There were multiple issues with the Bronson Rosewater drop. The purpose of doing drops on a different domain is so that bots do not have time to set up. When he leaked the domain early, he gave botters time to set up. When he made the password easy to guess, it was basically game over. Most stores who use a different domain don't release that info until the scheduled drop time. They could have a link on their main site that redirects to the alternate domain.

On the Bronson story - I was never able to get a sneaker through his site but I did by other apparel on each drop - I was given friends and family access. Thought it was the right way to do it. Nike has done similar things in the past
