It’s good to see your video again and say hello to you, and of course learn all you so kindly pass on to us about roses. Here we have also had rain in abundance. A blessing as we are always in need of water.

Good video. Thanks. That’s the first Veilchenblau I have seen matured. I only have cuttings of it so far. 👍🏻

Hello from Germany! I just found you, and I enjoy your videos a lot. The "V" in Veilchenblau is pronounced like an "F", while the "ei" is pronounced like the "igh" in "highly" So the name sounds something like "Fighl-chen"-blau.

Thanks so much! I always wonder how poorly I pronounce the German and French cultivar names.

Just ordered a Veilchenblau. One attraction is that it is less thorny than most. Thanks Jason and greetings from Austria.

It's a real beauty - and yes, much nicer to handle because of the smooth stems. Thanks

I’ve followed you for a while, but didn’t realize that you had Veilchenblau! Mine here in Bavaria has just begun to bloom🙂

I’ve only ever seen Veichenblau as a climber nd have mine as a climber. Interesting to see it untamed as a shrub!

I have some Veilchenblau, the first one was a grafted plant and it can be rooted easily from cuttings. So I have a few 'babys' now. It grows about 5 m in one year and has no diseases. But it has no smell and blooms only once a year with it´s spectacular colour. In really hard winters (-15°C and lower) without snow it can freeze to the ground. In my garden it has together with Paul´s Himalayan Musk a job as a living fence. Veilchenblau has no thorns but Paul has a lot (Some Gardeners compare it with an octopus^^). Noone climbs over them.

When you take out the root of the white rose, can you plant it in another place or container to grow it...is it a nice plant?

The flowers are very simple and not long-lasting.

I just bought veilchenblau, was labeled purple climber. Very cheap at just R25 like 2 USD. Still undecided where to plant it.
