I followed your videos and took some cuttings from my favourite roses. They’ve rooted and done really well and I will pot them on soon. Two of them are cuttings from roses my late father grew. So I’m thrilled I will be able to ensure they continue blooming. Love your videos and how you explain things. Greetings from Surrey, England.

You seem to be on a winner with the roses. $800 is a great haul.I do vegetable and herb plants and usually turn over around $300. Not too many rose growers where I live.

I know i’m a little late to the party on this video but do these trees need an insect pollinator if they are inside a structure? I know the flowers have both male and female parts and wondered if that was enough for pollination/fertilization

Hello Jason, I am from Pakistan. I have tried growing roses from cuttings for 3 years but no luck. This year I have tried air layering after watching this video on 1st of February. I hope I am lucky this time ❤.

I love this rose, it’s a little tender for where I live now but I’ve grown it in every garden, when I could find it. It was named after a hero of WWI, a pilot.

A few years ago, I got a few grape and kiwi plants, and they have been in containers because I was in a temporary housing situation. In two seasons, they had grown over 10 feet. We just bought our forever home and I brought all my container plants over. It was about an hour of effort, but I carefully unbraided 4 grape vines and 4 kiwi vines from each other, away from the trellis, and was able to move them without cutting them back. 🎉 I only had two points of breakage; one grape and one kiwi. So I am going to attempt to root them. Thank you for the video, this will be very helpful. If this works, I am going to be a propagating maniac because I have two acres 😁

I really appreciate that you waited until til you had results and posted the results in the same video you began them in. Too often, I’ll watch a gardening video about something like this, then it ends and I have no idea how it ended up, and often I cannot figure out which video was the follow-up (if there even is one).

Yolande d'Aragon and Duchesse de Rohan are two of the strongest scented roses I have ever smelled in any nursery, garden etc. I could smell few flowers of Duchesse from 20ft, its much more powerful than even the strongest of DA roses or even HTs. And I have only roses that are able to waft due to its strenght. Yolande is beautiful bloom, very similar to Madame Issac Pereire

Coming back to watch this before the season starts! I have quite a few roses in containers. I used organic fertilizer last year but think I’m going to try osmocote this year. It gets so hot and humid here. Thinking it may be easier to maintain a more constant level of nutrients that way in the containers. Will also supplement with some organic liquid fertilizer during the season. You’re the best!

Thanks for your videos. I propagated roses from a bouquet based on this video four weeks ago. Two have developed leaves and the rest have not, but I checked some of them and it seems they have formed callus at the base. My main question is, when should I bring them out from the humidity dome? Should I remove the ones that have developed new leaves and keep the rest under the humidity dome until they grow leaves? I would appreciate your response.

Interesting legend. I'm glad they are not a significant problem. For all pests I like soapy water in a spray bottle, but I spot treat in an attempt to preserve beneficial insects. Except on a Japanese Maple I got at 90 percent off at the end of the season. When Spring came so did aphids, and ants taking care of them. The first few sprays were annihilating, the whole little tree. But it made it through well!

I live in North Texas. I wondered if you would cover any updates on Rosette Disease. You did but quickly moved on? Any updates. We saw this horrible disease migrate into N Texas a decade ago. Our city planted over 10 thousand Knock Out Roses and two years later had to remove all of them. Unfortunately the disease started showing up on my various Antique Bush roses and several other classes of roses. I’ve had to dig up bestiful plants when the “witches broom” started showing. I’ve been told the disease is spread by a mite that blows in the wind adhering to roses. If you hav3 any updates from experts I’d sure appreciate you sharing.

Interesting plants and I'd never have guessed ones normally thought of as growing in arid places would need to have their seeds soaked. Enjoy your videos by the way.

Seems to make sense that plants growing in an arid climate would have very hard seed coats that require prolonged soaking. Would guard against these seeds germinating with just a quick rain shower that didn't keep ground wet long enough to keep the seedling alive. Hard seed coats also enable seeds to survive digestive systems of animals that eat them. Great way for them to disperse longer distances. The hot water soak just softens the coat faster that's all.

Thanks - that makes some sense to me: could avoid a "false start" if there's just a little (but not enough) moisture to really bet on.
