compliments getting fragrances and those that failed

Thanks Russell. Do you want to share some compliment getters? Personally I think compliments do have value in how I feel about my fragrances, and it dictate what I would wear out. But, I have tons of guilty pleasures that I enjoy at home or on nature hikes.

​@@fragranceinstinct agreed on the guilty pleasures. 👍👍 I grew up on ADG, but the recent versions are terrible performers and do NOT smell the same as the OG... So I abandoned it for 360 Red, which still gets positive comments. So does Ombre Leather and Rare Carbon, RC more so because I wear it way more. Barbershop, Dawnbuster, Blue Fire, and Paisley Sky from Happyland Studios have all gotten standout compliments, even though I think the last one really doesn't suit my daily appearance well at all and I rarely have the balls to wear it. Mont Blanc Explorer, Tommy Bahama St Barts, and Nautica Voyage (still!) round out the list of what I can think of off the top of my head. I'm not much of a social animal anymore, so most of my compliments come at work. I work in a cavernous building, lots of open air, so more intimate performers rarely get noticed.

I love The One (edp especially), one of my favourite scents, but I am also yet to receive a compliment from it. But my guess is that some scents, even if they are appreciated, they may be harder to compliment based on the sensations they arise. I am pretty sure that the scent didn't go unnoticed, but if it arises sensuality, like The One surely does, it mutually arrises the instinct to restrain yourself in society, where as a scent like Versace Pour Homme which arises calmness and purity are naturally easier to compliment by anyone. A sensual scent like The One will most likely be complimented only by a person who allows herself to be sensual with you. Be it as it may, I will always love The One.
