Compline - 2nd Week Michaelmas 2024

I enjoy the Sung Eucharist services also the choral evening songs from my KZbin. The choir sings nicely especially the psalms . I'm watching Canterbury Cathedral services also.. I like most the choral evening songs especially when Fr Max was the precentor. I started knowing the Keble College when he was leaving the Canterbury for the chaplaincy in Keble. I'm an Anglican priest in South Africa.

so saddened at Dean Robert’s death; but thankful that it was through him I came to know of Father Max follow him here. May Dean Robert rest in the peace of God’s love and know that eternal rest that comes with the words: well done thou good and faithful servant. Max in your service you carry the gifts he gave you in the experience of Canterbury. You reflect in your ministry the same richness and boldness of spirit he gave us in his ministry.

I came to know of Keble also after Father Max came from Canterbury; I had Canterbury Choral Evensong appear on my you-tube feed after I was admitted to hospital with a stroke in 2019, just after Victoria Australia locked down, and Dean Robert’s Morning Prayer appeared just after. Considering my family medical history, it was a miracle that I survived with few side-effects of the stroke, and my then wavering faith reignited and, as the grand-daughter and daughter of Church organists, the daily prayer and church services were a blessing and a privilege to partake in, especially since hospital visiting hours were severely restricted. Compline is such a soothing end to the day, and rounds off the day’s prayer cycle appropriately, and is a reminder of the old monasteries that preceded our Anglican Church.

The name, Robert Willis,is read out at services this Allhallowtide and in the future.He was a friend to many of us online,so I wrote about his death in chat, and the comments of others at Keble are some of the many warm words written about him.His KZbin channel, Garden Congregation,is an apt legacy,his ministry can continue on earth as he rests at peace in heaven.

Thank you choir as always. But this operatic version is not in the reflective, contemplative spirit of the office which prepares us for a quiet restful night under the protection of our Lots . Truly sorry fir ny comments but I did not like thus rebdutikn.
