Slow down time Quick recharge, many attacks in a span of only 2 or 3 seconds for the enemy Also great to run away from enemys

There's something special about walking up to a fortress filled with bandits, forsworn or damn faithless Imperials and Calling the Storm to lay waste to them all.

I may have mixed feelings on Skyrim and Bethesda nowadays, but in 2011 this piece inspired feelings in me that have rarely appeared since. Jeremy Soule is a wizard with music.

@@brreakfastYT nah it was great regardless, sure they cut some stuff that the older games had but it was good overall except the ps3 version, which was kinda buggy

@@DapimpBDSD It's not the worst game ever, but compared to previous TES games and what it potentially could've been if Todd wasn't a greedy hack. It's a completely gutted version of what it should've been with dozens of mechanics and settings hand waved away for the sake of sheer laziness. If you like it, that's great. I like it for what it is, but as a long time Elder Scrolls fan, it's quite a big disappointment.

i want to argue that that opening/closing percussion is almost the musical theme of bethesda's elder scrolls if you look at how both morrowind and oblivion's themes include it

Regardless of how much of a meme Skyrim became from its multitude of re-re-re-rereleases, bugs, "It just works", and goddammit Todd, I'm not buying Skyrim for my smart fridge This song is very much special. It hits a similar yet different feeling (for me) as the Morrowind version. With Morrowind, you hear the Elder Scrolls theme throughout the game, but it's most easily heard during character creation. It gives off this vibe of stepping into the alien-esque lands of Vvardenfel. But with Skyrim, I point to that first BIG trailer they did for the game where this song is heard; it can instantly bring you back to November 2011. As well, a lot of the ambient tracks in Skyrim have similar instruments/tones and I *think* there might be some leitmotifs throughout, so you're still hearing the theme as you play. But that second verse when it builds to be bombastic will always make me feel a certain way.

If you get the chance, I'd highly recommend Sovengarde from the Skyrim OST as well. The main theme of Dragonborn is not actually the canonically original version of the song. It is the rendition created by modern bards after the lyrics for the original were discovered. However, the musical score was not discovered. Sovengarde, however, is the original version from ancient times. A nice comparison between the old and new as it were.

Oh yes. The beating heart of dead Lorkhan is the doom-drum of Tamriel. All great destinies march to its tones. "This heart is the heart of the world, for one was made to satisfy the other."
