I found this band on accident..gave them a listen out of pure morbid curiosity. I actually dig the hell out of them,,they are surprisingly good for how simple their music is(and I don't mean that in a negative light...raw music is refreshing from time to time)

I meant to dive deeper into their stuff but completely forget about them, so thanks for this reminder :)

I personally think some of their songs are borderline experimental... I really got that vibe from their song "reNEDucation"
@jaspermeade14193 жыл бұрын
No need to thank me, brother... I must add, that as far as their lyrics go... They are just"excuses" to use Ned Flanders Quotes...BUT!! Their lyricist is very adept at making the lyrics make sense for the most part. They have a song entitled "we are coming for you, Neighbor" that is under a minute long, but it effin' JAMS...I recommend that one for sure.

This band is legitimately great live. When they were in my city the opening band was a local punk band I really wanted to see. So me seeing Okilly Dokilly live was more of a fluke than anything. Even though the opening band knocked it out of the park, Okilly Dokilly still managed to surpass them. The amount of crowd-control, wittiness, and all-around good time these guys can manage in a small venue with only a quarter of the tickets sold is seriously impressive. There wasn't much moshing, but the little that was there was also carefully looked over by the lead, and he reminded everyone to be courteous. Oh, and none of the members ever break character on-stage. For song suggestions (because of course I have those too ;)): La Dispute - Said the King to the River -- Some very interesting post-hardcore Dance Gavin Dance - Chucky vs. The Giant Tortoise Gojira - Silvera

I had to look this up and apparently it's another song from them. Am I actually getting a request to react to another Okilly Dokilly song? :)
@YurkerYT5 жыл бұрын
@@CriticalReactions in that case react to Reneducation, it was way better lyrics than white wine spritzer. Also the lyrics are always a bit lacking because the band ONLY uses phrases which Ned Flanders said himself.

Interesting idea for the lyrics. If you're gonna do something then you should commit 100% and I guess using real quotes is about as committed as you can get :)

Shockingly surprised these guys would be amazing live. Great job. Shai Hulud any song from the That Within Blood album. Or Arch Enemy - Enemy Within both amazing bands in their own right.

If you want to see another gimmicky band check out Nekrogoblikon - We need a gimmick, or Powercore

yes, Nekrogoblikon, not just for their gimmicks but quite good musical proficiency and ability to sen shivers down the spine. my pick would be those two songs and Prince of the land of Stench

"I wonder if any of them actually have a background in music" he says as they are all playing their instruments live. Bruh.
@CriticalReactions5 жыл бұрын
What I meant by that is if any of them played music or sang prior to this band. The bass, guitar, and piano parts are quite simple and could be picked up by even the newest player. It wouldn't be too improbable that these people came up with this crazy idea and decided to act on it despite never playing any instrument prior.
@xerodelacroix55525 жыл бұрын
@@CriticalReactions They're a parody band but they are serious musicians. They have two full length albums and the styles are all over the place, everything from deathcore to country.
