The video is really a mash up of the 2 video's with bits going forward/backwards. I was lucky and got to see them live in London at the start of October and they did both of these songs one after the other and the band sound just as good live as they do in the studio. If you want to hear more of the violinist (Jill) you should check out Angreifer by Unlucky Morpheus. The song was writen before Jill joined the band, but due to Shiren one of the giutarists being injured (tenosynovitis of the arm) she takes over his role on violin. Another song that she is in is Bloody Rain by Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus singer).

One of my favourite bands, and one of my favourite singers! As I understand it there are separate lyrics for both parts, both sung "forwards", with the vocal melody reversed. There's a part in the beginning of the second part that is apparently reversed but in such a way that the sounds make up words backwards as well (not entirely sure of that, my Japanese is non-existent). The violinist is usually texture in most songs, but it works great. And if you're interested in another great Japanese band I would recommend Ningen Isu. The song Heartless Scat is a good introduction, and also a recent song of theirs.

The first line of Cavader means 'I will come back here' in English, and the last line of Redavac means 'You will come back here' in English. The song(s) about death and rebirth, as title(s) connote(s). Hey notes set on yeh.

I would recommend Spartan Army by Unlucky Morpheus, it's an instrumental track and all the musicians have a spotlight moment I think

im really liking the concept of the channel. not many people giving technical critique as part of the reaction process. i imagine your viewership will skyrocket once you get into Tool. (and on that note i'd recommend you start early in Tool's discography because the latter albums are very,very densely layered)

To be honest I'm nervous about doing Tool. The fandom can be pretty intense and I doubt I'll be able to grasp even half of the genius of a song on a first listen. Not to mention that Tool is hit and miss for me anyways (as far as singles go, I've never listened to a full album). But I'm thinking of doing a prog week soon and I really can't do that without looking at a Tool song :)

@@CriticalReactions totally understand; i didnt like anything off the latest album and i've had my head bit off a few times for saying so. A tip; in some instances you're better off just pointing out why it's 'different' rather than critique whether it's strictly good or bad. not a lot of people can hate on that approach because it's really just stating the obvious in a technical manner.

Now listen to Wagakki Band - Senbonzakura another awesome band. Talking about the drummer Fumiya, you may wanna checkout his other band/song called Galneryus - The Followers. Oh you wanna hear Fuki Tenge' voice more, try Doll$Box - Take my Chance, a side project band of hers, she has range on that song.

Unlucky Morpheus is not far from the top of my favourite band list. I like their unique sub-genre blending, with lyrics and image that is mostly goth-metal, while the music seems to me like some amalgamation of roughly equal parts symphonic metal, evolved power metal and some kind of more extreme metal. All the members are impressively skilled, and I appreciate how seamless Jill's violin-playing is integrated with the rest. This forward+reverse thing is limited to this song AFAIK. In addition to the thing you said, I think it must be really challenging to write music that sound that good both ways (and it cannot be as perfect as without this restriction). It seems to me that the video has some backwards bits in the forward part and vice versa to blend the feel of the whole video better (instead of playing up the contrast) which matches well with the approach of making the music to sound good both ways. I do not think she sings every sound backwards. That would have been even more weird-sounding in Japanese, since they do not have the same kind of syllables as us, but something much stricter, called "mora" which consists of a consonant sound in front of a wowel sound except for naked wowels or a naked N that is used more like wowel -- and they are said in a pretty even rhythm, except when marked as double-length. These mora correspond 1:1 to japanese phonetic letters. *For most mora/letters the reverse do not exist.* That would presumably make playing sounds backwards seem unnatural sound-soup to Japanese. I assume that probably put either words or the japanese mora/letters in reverse order since rewriting the lyrics to fit the reverse part in a sensible way would be very challenging. (The "kanji (chinese pictogram letters/signs) are broken down to the same mora / letters phonetically). PS: I do not speak japanese even though I know a little bit about the languague.

Name is Angie, Hana is still lead vocals - though she moved from drums to rhythm guitar. Angie does Hype and some vox. She has a unique position that doesnt really exist in any other band. Gacharic Spin are one of a kind, and of course the best live act in the world ;)

If you want to hear more from Jill (the violinist) you should check out her work with Hollow Mellow or listen to Unlucky Morpheus' recent unplugged album "Heikou jikuu no ongakkai". Not metal but I just thought I would leave this here because their unplugged work is fantastic in my opinion. (btw. keep in mind that they are a doujin band if you start checking out more)

It's a band based on Tohou, The majority of their discography are Touhou arrangement albums. It's a video game. To many japanese bands are Influenced by touhou...
@tcmax7837
@tcmax7837 4 жыл бұрын
@@nathtaylor7886 this is not really correct, while Unlucky Morpheus is indeed doujin, doujin does not have to be based on touhou nor any other video game music or whatever. There is plenty of original doujin music. Doujin music is simply self-published music. A fairly well-known example of original doujin metal is Imperial Circus Dead Decadence (and, well, the original Unlucky Morpheus albums). Your point that Unlucky Morpheus has a lot of touhou arrangements in their discography does stand, but I think this is an important distinction to make still. As for Unlucky Morpheus' discography, they have 25-40 original songs or so iirc

You may like to check out "Unlucky Morpheus - Spartan Army". It an instrumental without one guitarist. By the way the drummer plays piano/keyboards, OK when live it's a backing track, but they do have some songs without drums, but those are more from the Touhou albums they do, not the metal stuff.

Another creative work maybe they trying make a jazz album called 'Signs' but with a different singer. Jill (the violinist) sometimes get spotlight a little here and there but another song that features her solos is Endless Control, but it doesn't have an official video right now Take note that this band was initially a side project. Most of them already have main band before and only recently, Shiren (guitarist with headless guitar) left his main band because of palm injury and want to focus on making music in this band

If you want to see the vocalist showing off some more of her range check out the track REASON by "SYU from GALNERYUS" - at several points in that track she goes up to a belted A6 IIRC (might be a G#5, would have to re-listen to check, either way it's high with a lot of power!)

What is reversed is the flow of the video and the notes of the main melody. I think the music itself was recorded separately to match the reversed main melody. In other words, this is an experiment in which only the main melody is reversed.

I don't think there were any Satanic verses when played backwards, but I could be wrong. Fuki is an awesome vocalist as she has several projects she is involved in. They did an April fools day video where they all switched positions. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZqxmHSeecieibM The original is here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGnMkISehMymgdk
