I'm really glad you ended up doing Ra. They were one of my fav bands growing up and that album specifically has been a favorite of mine since it came out. I really wish they would have received more recognition. Their other two albums feel very different than from one, but they are still really well done imo. This is the first time I've seen anyone react to Ra and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

What's your favorite Ra song?

If you haven’t heard it before, check out DO YOU CALL MY NAME by RA (Great song and no fade out, I believe)…I think that past song that you talked about fading out before the guitar solo was a DIRE STRAIGHTS song.

Hey Bryan, thanks for your reaction to my request. It's always fun to see what parts of the song you break down. Ra isn't a complex band and they don't make challenging music but I believe there's enough depth and substance in their music to give them a chance. One thing that always stood out to me was their use of melody and some interesting phrasing, especially in songs like "Undertaken", "On My Side", "Violator", "Say You Will" etc. Cheers mate!

Wow never thought i'd see anyone do a Ra reaction! Surprised you didn't mention the acoustic guitar in the chorus adding a nice embellishment to the melody. The song "Taken" has some incredible vocals, even better than this. Nice work again Bryan!

Ra reactions are such a rarity man…thanks for doing this one…if you could check in on the band Chevelle while you are at it,you will be doing us a favour….personally I just love their guitar tones blended with their bass so much…and the drums always sound crisp as hell…

I only know of Chevelle's big singles back in the day; The Red, Send the Pain Below.....uh....maybe that's it. 😅 I'd love to hear what else they've done since I enjoyed both of those tracks.

I lost interest in mainstream rock years ago, mostly because I found the instrumental work too mind-numbingly simple and too many bands swung between the extreme of emo-level sensitivity or brain-dead machismo; this deftly avoids most of those pitfalls for me. More than anything, though, it's the vocalist that makes this stand out for me, as the guy reminds me a lot of Myles Kennedy, and the more singers out there that can sound like Myles Kennedy, the better! The guitar work isn't impressive until the solo (which is excellent), but it has a nice, groovy rhythm and I think the chord changes (and the emotional tones they signify), while not very complex or original, are still nicely done. I do wish they did something different with the chorus music as another of my issue with modern radio rock is the tendency to just hold long, heavily distorted chords underneath soaring vocals; not a bad thing in itself except for the fact it's SO overdone. While I don't mind fadeouts I do agree with you that it's out-of-place here. It reminds me a bit of the (much better done) Back in Black by AC/DC that also ends on an outro solo fading out, but it works better in Black in Black because that groove really feels like it could (should!) go on forever with Angus forever unleashing badass blues licks over it. I don't get the same feeling here. choral = like a choir coral = "marine invertebrates within the class Anthozoa of the phylum Cnidaria"

So I was right about choral. Stupid english language and homophones 😅
