What Asha Bhonsle talks about Rafi Saab is due to the fact that her performance in duets was not upto the mark as compared to Rafi Saab. Most of the excellent duets rendered by Rafi Saab is with Lataji (more than 400 duets) and with Suman ji (roughly 140 duets) Though Asha Bhonsle had rendered more duets with Rafi Saab (about 800 duets) than other female singers, the number of good duets with Asha Bhonsle are very less in number. This is a fact and for those duets which have become hits, evidenrly, the credit goes to Rafi Saab. If you refer Rafi Saab's Wikipedia, Lataji has mentioned that "Neither me, nor Asha, nor Mannadey nor Kishore da can sing in the scale range of Rafi Saab".. Moreover, please recall the words spoken by Lataji about Rafi Saab that "aise gayak bar bar janam nahi lenge". Asha's opinion about Rafi Saab is therefore biased and can be totally ignored..

Which song of Rafi can Asha add something new and make it better than the original? In almost all the Asha-Rafi duets, Rafi's part is always better. Thank you very much Mukherjee Sb for removing this myth created from Ashaji....There are hundreds of instances where Rafi Sb improvised from "dil se" and enhanced the quality and perfect feel/expression of a song....and this improvisations used to be acknowledged by the composers too. You can watch numbers of videos of great composer Pyarelal ji of " famous LP jodi" where he said after recording of a song to Rafi Sb "aapne char chand laga diye gaane me Saab ji" Rafi Sb used to say that its all because of Almighty he was able to do this, nothing else...so humble so down to earth person Rafi Sb was.....🙏🙏

Thank you and my compliment to you Mukherjee Sir for a true analysis of Rafi Sahab's improvisation capabilities in his music. You are the only Music Director who through your expertise in the field of music and analytical ability with reciting example of hindi songs have put a nice full stop on the highly indecent, unreasonable and unwarranted controversy created by Asha Bhosle ji which has only served to lower her image in public. I wish many more Music Directors who are still in life and under whom Rafi Sahab rendered his heart touching music could have come forward to do what you could do. But, sorry to say they chose to keep quiet conveniently forgetting Rafi Sahab's role of ensuring name and fame for them. What was the sudden need for Ash Bhosle ji to rush for this criticism about Rafi Sahab's music ? This is nothing but a clear attempt for one up manship, and that too after so many years of death of Rafi Sahab. After all millions of Rafi Sahab's followers of music does not need any certificate about him from the likes of Asha Bhosle ji. Let her not forget three things :First, Rafi Sahab was regarded and infact the voice of God in music for music lovers across the world over, second :Rafi Sahab never spoke derogatory about any body including co-singers during his life time and third, even her more legendary elder sister Lata ji never dared to show her fingers on Rafi Sahab's renderings.

This OP Nayyar was another arrogant guy. OP and Asha ji they use to team up at one side. Asha used to make many mistakes OP used to get frustrated, but never used say anything to her. ‘Main Pyar Ka Rahi Hoon’ is an example when Asha swapped lyrics in the two antaras. OP was angry with outcome, but didn’t say anything, but didn’t put this masterpiece song in the movie because of Asha ji’s blunder. On the other hand Rafi Saheb was once late on OP’s recording, because he was delayed in previous JS’s recording. OP Nayyar insulted Rafi Sahab and said he will never work with Rafi Saheb. After that OP ji’s career declined and so did his selfish love interest Asha ji left him for uprising/trend changing RD Burman. It is said that Pancham da in his last days was in a depressing state, without Asha ji’s support. This is Asha Bhosle for you. Great singer, but as a person… people are there to judge.
