Composers add music to light at the Turrell Skyspace at Rice University

Is it okay for visitors such as myself to film the skyspace for a video? I saw it in person a few months ago and I think it would be extremely cool to make a hyperlapse ( similar to a time lapse) video of the Twilight epiphany from the outside of it, and probably post it on KZbin

Was Monds' new music composition the background drone heard in the video? Or is will there also be some melodic line "which people could hum," as Tom Lehrer might say? The video was lovely and described will Monds' inspiration and composition context, but I didn't get any sense of what the actual music that he composed was.

Thanks for watching Michael. The music throughout the video was Monds' composition. There will be other live performances created by Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music composers in the future. There is a link in the description for more info about the program.

Hi Michael, the sound is much like a large complex pipe organ whose harmony changes according to the data from the light. James Turrell's work does not deal with image, but things like perception, light and color. Therefore, the sound is similarly minimal, simple and plays on the idea of sound color and perception.
