I've been enjoying your course. You have done an amazing job on them. I really appreciate all the work you put into them, sharing your methodologies, and the inspiration to drop all social media and get out there more. I've already seen a difference in my work. Have a great day Dave and be safe out there.

Hi Dave. I really like your approach to photography and teaching. I am interested in the "foundation" tutorial course as well as the one listed above. I followed the above link and I land on your main page, there are several videos (many that i have already watched on YT) but I cannot find any place to access the premium/paid content. I've hunted around quite a bit and no joy. Please advise, thanks!

The sale for this course ended on Tuesday the 12th, that's why you're directed right to my website. Shoot me an email support@davemorrowphotography.com and I can provide you with a list of my latest courses. Dave

Great video,Dave. Question for you. How do you keep track of what shot is what when you're focus stacking. Do you always start at the back and work your way to the front or vice versa? And how do you know where one set of focus stacked images starts and the next set begins on your camera roll?

Hey quick question, I'm heading for a group travel road trip to Costa Rica next week and it is raining season. So humidity and lots of rain. I can burrow a Gopro, but I think that isn't making it for campturing beatifull photo's and filming of the nature and animals (close and far)? I would love to make some still images when I'm back home to use for website/pc/tv backgrounds. So I wanna make some high res stuff, but due to the humidity and rain I'm not sure what to do. Any tips on what kind of gear is best to buy? Like would some sort of underwater camera do? Or are there some camera's that can stand agains the humidity and rain?? I just would love to not only capture the hike on the gopro, but capture the beaty of the environment with great single shots and short 4k+ movie clips. PS. I live in the Netherlands, so not all gear is for sale her ;( THX

Love your channel, couple questions. What's your pack weight? And in a forest full of trees how do you choose trees as a subject? For me they just come to me and usually the lighting helps, but I am just wondering your process for choosing subject material when it comes to trees.
@DaveMorrow
@DaveMorrow 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Charlie. Not sure, never weighed it:) I have all ultralight stuff, but camera and rafts weigh alot. No right or wrong way to choose a subject, some stuff just works, other stuff doesn't Shoot alot. Compare the shots when you get home. Tease out trends. Repeat. That's how I go about it at least. Take care! Dave

Great video Dave! That made me cold just watching your buddy swim the river. Whooooeee. And yea, I could sit and listen to you wax poetic about your shooting techniques all day. =) Love hearing people's explanation on why they like a certain compositions as opposed to others. But I do have a question. When you're out shooting, sometimes you (anyone) takes "test" shots before realizing the need for multiple shots for focus stacking, or maybe exposure stacking etc. With you being so far removed from your shooting; sometimes days between time of capture to time of uploading, how do you remember if the shots are for a stack or just practice shots? I know I get confused when I exposure stack (or focus), I can't remember if it was just part of my "test shots" or if it was part of the actual series. I couldn't imagine waiting for days to try and remember. Do you use a notebook? Recording device on your phone? Or something else to help along? Thanks again!!
@DaveMorrow
@DaveMorrow 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Glacier melt water is pretty cold stuff. I just look at the image attributes when I get home remember what the purpose of the exposure was.
@blivieriphoto
@blivieriphoto 5 жыл бұрын
@@DaveMorrow I'll bet it's cold. Brrrr And God bless ya for knowing just by looking at the exposure, I can't remember sh*t after a few hours. =) Maybe it's time to start shooting more with purpose. I think I just take too many photos. I suppose that comes with experience too. Thanks so much!
@DaveMorrow

I did have one question, when you were shooting the fern and tree, you were using aperture priority and shifting shutter speed by adjusting exposure compensation. It seems like a great many photographers prefer A mode but I wonder what is the benefit over shooting M and adjusting shutter speed directly?

You often talk about "moving the viewers eyes" somewhere in an image. Two questions. 1) Where is the eye entering the photo and 2) What are you trying to move the viewers eye to??
@DaveMorrow
@DaveMorrow 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Bruce. For sure. Good question. That's all up to you as the designer of the photo. It can enter and exit anywhere, or move to any subject you choose. There is not a right or wrong. I use specific methods to do this for each photo. They are covered in depth in the photo editing sections of my course. Color and light are the main tools used in these methods, it's just the where and how to apply them that takes practice and experimenting.
@brucefairman517
@brucefairman517 5 жыл бұрын
@@DaveMorrow I have learned the "how" to move the eye bit. But I was never really clear when to move it to. I always figured you would want to move it to the subject.
