I just did a video on how to make an 'instant worm casting tea'. I only called it that since I assume it's what most people will search for when they don't want to spend a day, or two with the expense of a bubbler. Plus I had a project I needed it for. Mind you, it helps if YT bothers to actually push it too. The algorithm is a total mess at times.

Sounds very similar to cultivating and pitching yeast in beer making. Great info as always, Church!

You got it man! And we must know each other from a past life? Only college or AF buddies call me "Church"...haha

So overwhelmed. I made a compost tea and I left it brewing for more than 36 hours BUT kept feeding it. (I became ill then it rained) Unsulphered non organic blackstrap molasses. Every 24 hours, even after I pulled the solids out. I made sure to stir it. Well, I think my plants liked it? I thought wormcasting tea pulled everything out, not just the bacteria in the castings but also minerals and the natural humus in the actual castings we are brewing would then remove the anaerobic bacteria or other unwanted fungi etc… The more I try to know and understand the more I realize how confused I am 😂… Thanks and cheers.

Sir! Your low amount of followers doesn't represent Your knowledge, it represents the low interest to a great thing. I also want to grow earthworms even if i cant sell them, "just" use for my own, when I finally will have my own house. Just coming from a video in which the gardener guy with850k+ followers cries because his video watchers dropped down to 10k for the new videos... There is a saying in Hungary: Who doesn't value the small, doesn't deserve the big". Keep up the good work, short but interesting and high information - density videos! I'm glad you are happy with your folloers and watchers amount. The world would be a poorer place without You!

Great video, thanks. I have encountered conflicting opinions on biochar much like those on putting wood in the bottom of a bed. Makes this amateur crazy.

Yeah Laura....as complex as this stuff is, I kinda give folks the side eye when they tell me they want to tightly control this or that to produce this or that result

I use both, but extract for when I need to add to water and don’t have castings to use. That way I’m not wasting money buying loads and not using my casting but also when I have no castings I have sothing to use

Another awesome, very informative video Steve!! Good job walking the line without getting the quasi religious organic/natural farming fanatics up in arms😂🤣😂 Love your videos!🪱🪱🪱

How long can you store an extract?
@666bruv7 ай бұрын
A few hours
@UrbanWormCompany7 ай бұрын
There are ways to stabilize extract (often using ascorbic acid) which sends the microbes into dormancy. Some folks claim 6 month of up to 2 years of viability, but I can't verify any of that.

How do you know. When the tea is going anerobic? Do you use a microscope when you brew yours?
@666bruv7 ай бұрын
A microscope is essential to monitor the organism growth

Anyone can help here please. Can you think of extract like a concentrate? Also can you take, let’s say a gallon of extract and make like 5 gallons of tea? I would like to have a “concentrate” then each week make a tea out of it and feed my plants. Any ideas? Thank you everyone

Not a word about fungus interesting
@UrbanWormCompany7 ай бұрын
Fungi aren't really going to propogate during a brew. They just take too long. But certain foods (I believe kelp meal is one of them) can help them propogate after application.) If you want a fungal tea or extract, you need to start with a fungal compost or vermicompost
