my grandad also made his own compost, he started making compost at 5 years old selling it in spring to garden hobbyists.. actually the three most important things when making compost is to mix and aerate the incidence really well and then cover it up so the process can start and accelerate.. you can lay water hoses inside the pile and get piping hot water coming out... cover the sides and top well.. he had a termometer in each pile and a couple of sticks to check for moisture levels and a pipe for adding water if needed into the center of the pile.

I really like your greenhouse setup Simeon! I just moved my flock into a small greenhouse we built but I've had issues regarding the roosting bars. One of the viewers of our channel, Peoria Dude, referred me over to your channel to see the tree limbs on the sawhorses you put together for the roosting bars. Very creative! I love it. Thank you for the great videos!

Hello from Kentucky! Just found your channel & love it. I would have used some of that hay in the pig pen first & let them soil it a bit, then add to compost pile (double use out of it). I'd also dump a tractor bucket scoop of that cow manure in there once a week & let the chicken eat the bugs-excellent source of protein in the winter!

I'm not sure how current this video is but I'm surprised at how much warmer it looks there in Sweeden than where I live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. For the last week it has been around -20c and at times -30c with the wind. I know it gets very cold there but does that happen later in the season? Thanks for sharing!

We've had some winter weather already but usually the real winter comes after Christmas and Newyears. We have had a lot of warm wind come in from the west, the Atlantic coast and the gulf stream.

Did this actually work? I had the same idea and was looking around for people who have tried it. I was worried about Gas releases inside the enclosed space... so i was thinking of maybe making a Thermal Siphon with the Compost outside of the Green House with maybe Car Radiators as the HeatSinks inside the Green house or AC or Refrigerator coils Lots of options for heatsinks. but id prefer to just have the pile inside if the gas buildup wasn't an issue.
