Last question 1st year interest =8% 2nd year Interest = 8.64% (X+Y+XY/100) gives COMBINED interest for 2 years. If you have 8 as 1st year interest then the rest will be the interest rate for the second year, i.e. 8.64. So difference btw interest = .64 Now, ATQ .64=64 100=x X=10000. You can solve this by logic also. 100 times .64 is 64. Then 100 times 100 is 10000. All the best✨

Total CI at the end of 2nd year = 1st year CI + 2nd year CI Also written as: 1st year CI + 1st year CI + 64 (according to question) Now % cumulative for 2 years = 16.64 •• 16.64 ---> 1st CI + 1st CI + 64 Replace 1st CI with 8% .... 16.64 - 8 - 8 -----> 64 .... 0.64 ---------> 64 Hence 100 (deposit) --------> 64×100/0.64 = 10,000

64 is nothing but the difference between CI & SI, calculate CI for 2 yrs = 16.64 %, and then SI= 16%, now their difference = 0.64%. Now, 0.64% = 64, therefore 100%= x, after calculating, x= 10,000 which is the principal.
