Antiwhiteism can be really subtle. Take the movie Se7en for example. Somerset (Morgan Freeman) was calm, cool, collected and intelligent. He frequented the library so much that the overnight security guards knew him. Mills (Brad Pitt) was low impulse and watched football on television instead of reading. Mills needed cliff notes to understand. The pathologist was black. Mills required an explanation from the pathologist, while Somerset immediately understood. The DA was black. The janitor who scraped Somerset's name of the door was white and slow. The one of the black library security guards made a joke that made the white library janitor laugh out loud. Black people are witty, intelligent and slow to anger. White people are of lower intellect and have low impulse control. Tell-a-vision has a major impact on how some people see the world. Young black kids watching would see themselves as superior due to their overrepresentation and portrayal in Hollywood. Once you see it, the chances of not seeing the social engineering, propaganda and symbolism are impossible to unsee.

@lordgoogoo69 true it wasn't all bad and I'm all for enjoying whatever you can out of a movie. There are plenty of movies that are hit and miss that I have had a good time with. This movie mostly just made me feel a sadness for modern entertainment with the lack of characters, constant harking back to previous movies, key jangling as the reviewers call it now and just the entire lack of originality. Why does it seem most movies are 20 something nobodies now who are very much forgettable. Alien Resurrection had monkey man Ron Pearlman, fun characters with memorable scenes. In this they were just bland fodder. From what I understand it seems to have impressed younger audiences and made a good bit of money. It wasn't Prey levels of lame at all but standards are low.

@@therecanbeonlyone801 damn I couldn’t agree more. I just finally reached the point where I want a lobotomy and understand why people love and support boring stories, rehashed characters and nostalgia only for the pursuit of hitting a profit margin and not even doing it right. It’s crazy to see but that’s all get 99.99% of the time and it’s not going away. Art is pretty much dead because of greed and algorithms. We aren’t ever getting the thing, alien 2, ghostbusters , etc. back but once in a while we get spiderverse

It’s not a movie. It’s a haunted house 🏚️ ride of best-of hits. The opening created a world & concept with so much potential. Then someone thought it was a good idea to invite Ridley Scott on set

I actually agree with everything Ant said here...BUT...this was still one of the best home theater watches Ive ever had. If you have a killer surround rig with some hefty low end, and you know nothing will ever compare to Alien and Aliens, this one can be a fun watch.

Alien is indeed perfect, but Romulus is a solid and enjoyable expansion of the world Scott and Cameron created. Nothing wrong with a low-stakes little, modest budget heist movie in space. It had tons of practical effects, wasn't woke and had a great premise (not least adding more depth to WY). Given the usual slop churned out by Hollywood, Romulus was a fun romp.

Prometheus/Covenant sort of underrated. You need to know the big picture, if you don't it doesn't make any sense. There's a lot of things that aren't explained that should have been. Like specific characters being high on futuristic drugs etc.
