i just use /petattack and /petpassive and keep my pets on passive 100% of the time. i tried mapping petattack to immolate at first, but it got way too wonky with multiple mobs trying to multidot and shit without ping ponging my pet. i love attack and passive because i have total control over the pets. if my void actually manages to hold aggro i can press petpassive and then petattack to have him reposition the mob closer to me if i don't want to chain aggro a pat. if i'm in a dungeon i can put my full rotations on multiple mobs without sending my succy all over the place, and then when the mob she's on is about to die, i can preemptively get her to attack the next one without messing with my rotation at all. another quality of life thing i get to do is if i'm headed somewhere and i aggro some world mobs, i can just make my void or even the succy attack them, then i get to keep running free without getting dazed or anything. once i get far enough away i just hit petpassive and we're gucci. so much control with just 2 keybinds

Just booting up a lock alt now after doing arms warrior for most of classic. And man, its just amazing how versatile the lock is within the dps spectrum. Several very viable end game builds and in terms of leveling it feels like you can almost do what you want. Something might be optimal, but most of it is very viable, and my killspeed and sustain is very high regardless compared to my other toons

The macro for having your pet attack when casting a spell is cool. But I prefer to bind pet attack to scroll up and pet follow to scroll down. Its super intuitive.

I actually would recommend binding it to shift+mouse wheel that way you can still zoom in and out. Of course, if you dont care about screen distance this doesn't matter much.

I am confirming this, as you solo lvl your pet CAN get the killing blow. But if you are in dungeons with a group, you wont get the proc as a groupmember gets the killing blow.

yep solo level with imp i go Improved drain soul early if its just me, if you are using more dots later in the game as a dot lock, though with or without party members i would skip the talent as some gurus calculated the gain from usage is null. but to each there own!

Great guide ! But let me suggest another tips about maccro to control your pet more efficency, in my opinion. I have been using it for years with my warlock and hunt. Rather to create a maccro that i will have to keybind. I use the keybind directly on the pet abilitys. And especially for order him to attack and come back. This gives, CAPS + MOUSE WHEEL FORWARD to attack, and CAPS + MOUSE WHEEL BACKWARD to call him back. Of course your pet need to be always in passive stance. With a little bit of practice, you will see that this technique will make your gameplay more easier and flexible.

Did they change the auto delete part of the Soulshard macro? Even Necrosis has you click a button now and has a text that says "due to changed in TBC auto delete of items doesn't work anymore" but everywhere i look it only mentions TBC so i assumed classic should/would still work but no matter how many macros i try they simply never delete the shards.

Unless you're a tailor, don't bother with the quest for Enchanted Gold Bloodrobe. Robes for Arcana is learned through a pattern which drops from mobs deep into Alliance territory, which means that people have to purposefully farm the pattern. The robe currently sells for ~5g on my realm.

Hi, My first time using Macros in wow at all, 15years ago did not needed or did not know about them :) I try to write "Drain Soul" macro and are little confused about the last line. I use first lock soulbag "Small Soul Pouch" 12 slots and use it as last bag (should be slot 4 if not counting Backbag #Showtooltip /cast Drain Soul(Rank 1) /Petfollow /run PickupSmall Soul Pouch(4,Get(12)), DeleteCursorItem(Soul Shard) Where is the mistake? Problem is that it does not delete soul shard after bag is full

The last line of text, the /run, should be all one line of text to the end of the second line you have there. Just keep typing till your text wraps around. If that doesn't work it could be something wrong with the actual text of the line. I copy and pasted the exact text from my macro pool that worked. Just remember it will only delete the final item in your bags too. If you need more help let me know :)

I'd base it off how long the target is going to live and your group composition. How many casters or other warlocks do you have. Is your target lasting more than 24 seconds? Is your group focused on aoe spellcleave? So many different way to adapt :)

Soul pouches should go in the bank until you hit max level. You shouldn't need more than 2 or 3 soul shards at a time when leveling, so you'd rather have normal bag space there. Most guides tell you Imp Drain Soul is a trap anyway.

Thanks for all this helpful information. I haven't played any form of WOW in over 6 or 7 years but I'm sick now and can no longer work so im debating on starting to play again to help pass my time. I remember when I started playing the original classic I rolled a Warlock and I knew nothing at all about how to play my Toon or which gear was best to lvl or raid in. I was a total Nub but I learned to become very good especially at DPS in dungeons and raids. My question I have for you probably sounds pretty silly but one thing I very well remember from back in those days leveling my lock was when I would ask experience people playing which staat between two different ones was the best choice for a lock and I never got enough of just one single answer to decide which was more important. The two staats I'm referring to are ; Intellect or spirit. Which of those two were more important for a lock? Probably seems silly to you but that really stood out at me as a huge issue back then and I never did know for sure. Most told me warlocks didn't use spirit that spirit was for priest yet alot of cloth drops I would see had spirit on them and the drop may have even called out it was a locks Cape or wrist.

Well rather than avoiding any stat in particular I think you just need to keep a priority list in mind. And the priority list changes depending on when you are asking. For leveling after Stam/Int I think its perfectly acceptable to take gear with spirit on it. When you start to get closer towards end game Spell Damage and Spell Crit become very important stats for you to look for so you don't have much time for spirit. So I guess in short I wouldn't sacrifice int/stam for gear that exclusively held spirit on it but if you find a nice piece of gear with spirit it can be very helpful at early levels. But then again it all depends on what and how you are leveling too. questing/dungeon grinding =)

Hmm did you copy and paste it or type it from the text? Also if its too much trouble Necrosis does a good job managing your shards too! It just comes with a lot of other features too.

Yup it's a great alternative to the dagger orb combo and you arnt losing that much shadow spell damage. I'd use it unless you have your sights set on something else expensive. :D

The staff is great for twinks, but BG's haven't opened yet. If you equip it, it will be fantastic for a few levels and then it's still bound to you but you've moved on to better weapons. If you plan to create a twink for BG's then keep it, otherwise auction to someone else who wants to do that and get a ton of gold.

In my experience the drain soul macro to call your pet off to get the killing blow is useless. At least with the Voidwalker, I always get the killing blow without calling him out. I know many guides are recommending to use this macro, but have you guys tried to go without it?

It doesn't matter if the pet gets the last hit, you will still get the proc as long as you have drain soul going. It can't be anyone else other than you or your pet.

As a former raider in Vanilla and BC please do yourself a favor and take the abyssal shard trinket. DS/Ruin is a great spec but you can save yourself shards for sacrifices. Raiding Allan get very shard intensive and there isn’t always a good source to restock, especially when putting heavy progression in late bosses.

i strongly disagree, as a warlock you arent allowed to run out of shards, you should be farming up 60-80 shards before every raid. The weapon will help you out alot on a fresh server for leveling and early MC.

Sadly, the level 50 class quests appear to not be in the game for anyone. Blizzard released these later during vanilla and while we dont know which phase for sure they I am guessing phase 4. I had hoped they would come out for phase 1 because they made a great addition to the class fantasy. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Not at all, Robe of the Void is a near 1% damage increase compared to Robe of Winter Night, one is BOP and makes you level tailoring to 300, the other can be farmed easily or bought for a reasonable price, then you can drop herb for Tailoring in phase 4, where its mandatory to have Tailoring. People think going tailoring as lock is mandatory but it really isnt, not until ZG.

If you are talking about Improved Shadow Bolt (first row in destro tree), then yes. As far as I know, it's all damage sources that deal shadow damage to the target that get's the bonus (Sorry for the late response)

You can use the addons Necrosis if the macro isnt working for you.

@@Grimprospect i actually fogured it out. I'm terrible at coding, and didnt realize that not including the space between "rank" and "one" would break the entire macro. Thank you for the reply though.

Hmm the /cast corruption(rank 1) /petfollow doesn't work for me. Same with the drain soul one.

Best way to do spell macros is to /cast (Click the spell from spell book) and it will insert. Make sure you have spaces in the right spots

@@travism2185 try what Jason. Shift clicking the spell from the spellbook can be a nice way to make sure you get exactly what you want in your macro. #showtooltip at the top can be very useful too.
