I'm glad the community is collectively deciding to slow things down after I have said repeatedly that you don't need to speedrun the game to enjoy it. I have literally had people ask me "why are you levelling fishing?" as if to say "because I want to" isn't a valid response. People would literally tell you what professions to take and look at you weird if you picked anything other than mining/engineering. Anything that deviated from the prescribed meta seemed like a waste of time to them, but here we are. It took a few years, but people finally are willing to give the rest of the game a chance.

Another tip: taking enchanting early on can be very lucrative. People will often post level 11-15 boe green weapons on the AH for 10-12 silver. These items often disenchant to 1-2 greater magic essences. Each essence can be made into a greater magic wand which vendors for 15 silver. So if you spend 12 silver on an item and get 2 essences, you just made more than double your investment. Not to mention that means free leveling enchanting until 150

Don't waste a profession slot on your main. Create a level 1 bank alt and park him in ogr/sw and take enchanting. You can disenchant any level item and that way your main has more important professions it will also free up bank/bag space since you'll be sending your unwanted greens to your alt.

I wonder how large the layer populations will be, especially the crowded starting zones, Stranglethorn hunting, etc. If there really is no gold buying, but huge overall server populations, the AH is also going to be totally different. It would be nice if they rolled back the AoE dungeon farming too. While the AH gets you more than vendoring, it takes an enormous amount of time, which could be spent actually doing fun stuff.

Assuming you need 7 days of /played to hit lvl 60 (the pace of an experienced player who has leveled several toons), you need to play an average of 8 hours a day to be level 60 when raids open, or roughly 6,5 hours to reach 60 in the first reset. Slowing down because you have 3 weeks will probably make you miss a week of raids. There's a good chance you're fine with that, but make sure you actively chose it.

I'll tell my story, it takes 2 hours for me to get out of Northshire valley, Marshal Douglas Mcbride will salute me & then I go kill only level 1 young wolves to get the first 1 gold before heading to Goldshire for reporting & to receive my Stormwind army commendation! I even killed few more young wolves as a tribute for Eagan, I guess he knew what happened in Duskwood. Danged 10, got my Defensive stance to head directly to Coldridge valley... Many Dwarves went into the frontlines & Senir's observation has to be delivered to the dwarven senate to ruffle some feathers. Clearing Coldridge & green quests in Dun Morogh I danged 11 with 2 gold. Hogger tasted justice & Elwynn is fairly safe, I grab a big lvl 12 Healing potion to help me survive crocodiles dwelling the march, the Elves needed help indeed. Took the boat to Darkshore & met the Kaldorie. Ofcourse assisted the elves maintaining Teldrassil's balance. Back to Westfall, Saldaen is not alone... & Loch Modan is waiting me. Maybe this is just my Warrior but I'm lvl 41, didn't die & I have all Weapon skills/Blacksmithing/Secondary professions maxed out. I guess you got the idea guys, this is the only rite of passage. Only green quests, only lore... the best adventure of all time For the Alliance!

while there is truth in this vid and I also have the opinion that everyone should lvl as he likes (also in terms of speed), there is this missinformation that leveling slower is better. this is simply not true. getting as fast as possible to 60 will bring you ahead in almost all scenarios. what you gather or skill professions during leveling, you will be able to do so at lvl 60, just way faster (because you have a mount, because you are higher lvl and you dont have to deal with the same dangers vs. mobs or other players). also getting 60 early will put you in a position to fight for important high lvl resourcess vs. less players because you will be one of the first at that lvl. there is a good reason some people rush to 60. And yes, this is not the only way to enjoy this game. if anyone decides to level slow, it is not to maximize gold/gear etc. it is just for the fun.

Don't play troll mage. - Undead mages look badass but that's all they have going for them. Also some neat racial pvp buffs. - Humans generally have a nice figure in order to show-off all the armour you get. Especially late game. So if you end-up getting a full raid-set, it'll look good on your character if you play as human. You can't really go wrong with a human. - Personally I think Gnomes are the best mages since you gain racial passive for intellect and engineering, both of which are great for mages. And escape artist is a really neat racial ability for PvP. On top of that gnomes appear to run faster due to their size, which has a great psychological effect while levelling. Also a more niche and personal point, is the snowy ambience of Dun Morogh, combined with the cozy dwarven inns makes it my favorite vanilla starter zone; especially when its a fresh realm with tons of players. That's my take anyway.

Depends on if you wanna play alliance or horde. Mage gnomes for pve (5% intel & Engineering Skill +15) and mage undead for pvp (Will of the Forsaken, Cannibalize) + underwater breathing is pretty fun.

They ll get frustrated and or bored and will leave then the pros / Streamer and their fan boys can play with each other again. Just one last point to think about: people talking about vanilla is a journey all day. Probably the diffrence between now and back then is that people didnt rush it like nowadays... 😮
