I know other people have used non-Bambu Lab glue sticks successfully. I think as long as you use water-soluble glue sticks they should work. You may want to test a small area on your build plate to see if your brand of glue stick works well. It can always be washed off. Thanks for your question.

On the second, right most screw to mount the external filament holder, there is already a screw in that spot. It's rather hard to unseat. Am I supposed to remove that one and insert the new short one provided in the pouch? It's kind of hard to make out in the video.

why at one corner prints are warping ? is there any solution for this?
@ristinnovations
@ristinnovations 6 ай бұрын
That is a good question. My thoughts on why parts are warping in a specific corner are that possibly there is some contamination that needs to be cleaned off the build plate or possibly the build plate does not have the same temperature at the corner versus the rest of the build plate. I don’t have a solution if there is a temperature difference, plus it would be hard to measure the temperature without a thermal camera. On option might be to try a glue stick or use the Nano polymer adhesive from visionminer. I hope that helps.

Thanks for a really informative video. If I can find the space, and convince my wife I can spend the cost for this exact combo of the X1C with the AMS and filament, then this is exactly what I aim to get. :D The geometric parts and the poop shoot, what material are these printed in? PLA or PETG (or ABS?). Besides a few minor flaws I guess (unless meant to be - top corners of the poop shoot seen from the outside?), then these looks like awesome quality. Oh and with this video, I know exactly what to do if I get this model, and can get up and running quickly. :)
@ristinnovations
@ristinnovations Жыл бұрын
The geometric parts were made from PLA except for the red one, which was made from ABS. The poop chute was made from PLA. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the quality of the prints coming off the printer. If you want to print the higher temperature plastics you will want the X1 Carbon model. Bambu Lab offer a lower cost model, but it isn’t enclosed and there are some other features missing so the focus would be PLA and PETG. I really hope you can convince your wife to get the X1Carbon.😊.

@@ristinnovations Printed a few small things, including an enclosure for a joystick tester. Build the joystick tester myself, and purchased the design to print it. Works great, and besides planning to look into building functional stuff in general, then just doing the fun / test prints to get to know the printer first. Watching videos to learn the slicer etc as well. Only had it for approx a week, but loving it. I also think being into retro computer stuff, building small electronics projects etc. is gonna be a perfect match to being able to print own enclosures etc. as well. Holding back a little bit as the standard PLA that came with it is almost used up. However, the last order I did for additional fillament will be here tomorrow, so going to get some more printing done in the weekend. Also at least Bambu Lab responded to my support mail on the missing spare part and first shipment of fillament, and they are investigating what happened with that order/shipment. So cross fingers for quick resolve. Now with the P1S just coming out, the only regret I would have, would be that in the spare part order I also ordered the textured PEI plate, which they apparently did an updated version of. I can always hope they include the new one instead, due to the delay on the initial order that was made with the printer and spare parts.

@ristinnovations

Bambu Lab doesn’t recommend using cardboard spools in the AMS due to their concern that the rubbing of the cardboard will produce fiber dust that can clog the gears, but I do know many people do use cardboard spools in the AMS. I think it really depends on your specific situation.

As far as I can tell, when I send a sliced file from Bambu Studio, it goes to the printer’s internal memory. The internal memory always keeps the last file I sent so I can reprint it later if I want. The file doesn’t appear to be also saved to my SD card in the printer. Hi. Just checking in to see if your feelings are still positive on this printer. I'm considering getting one and it certainly seems like it's a good printer snd real easy to use. I currently have an Ender 5 which is good but it's slow and limited on the types of filaments it can successfully print. The speed, self leveling, lidar, fault detection, camera, enclosed case, phone app, etc. really seems like they've covered most bases. Have you come across any negatives? Anything you'd wish they'd change? You mentioned that you'll be producing more videos about this printer and 3D printng & design. What are you thinking about and what's your schedule look like?
@ristinnovations
@ristinnovations Жыл бұрын
Hi Christopher, I’m still very pleased with how the X1 Carbon is running in my shop. I’m making parts daily without any issues. The one limitation is that not all other manufacturers’ filaments fit into the AMS, but there are solutions to that. I’m building one of the motorized filament rewinders that transfer filament onto Bambu Lab spools. Regarding me wishing anything Bambu would change, I’m not into many multi-color prints, but it would be nice if they would offer a multi-head design to minimize waste and speed up the print time (but this is common for all single-head printers). I hope they improve their customer support (even Bambu’s CEO acknowledges they need to improve this). So far, it’s the closest thing to a plug-n-play 3D printer I have seen. I will be uploading more YT videos every 2 weeks or so on topics such as “Beginners Guide to 3D Printing”, “Upgrades to the Bambu X1Carbon”, “Bambu Slicer Tips”, etc. What specific topics are you looking for? I might be able to incorporate your topics into my future videos. Just let me know. Thanks for the comment.-Ken

@@FamiljenBarouta Hi Tony, I just finished a motorized spool rewinder based on the following 3 designers, all in Printables. Original design: Miklos Kiszely. Motorized version: Bird2Brain. Motorized major upgrades: Diplomator. Diplomator’s upgrades made my rewinder much more reliable. I found without Diplomator’s upgrades, the motor tended to slow down (and even stop) due the friction and weight of the full spool at the end of the rewind. I just uploaded a video this morning that shows you how to build a spool rewinder that gives you the option to rewind another manufacturer’s filament onto a Bambu Lab spool. Another option is to load the other manufacturer’s spool on the external spool holder, but that’s not part of the AMS. Did I answer your question fully? If not, just let me know how I can further help!

thans so much for taking the time to reply in detail. I'm a 2yr MK3S+ user and need/want another and cannot decide. Are the tags on the reels recodeable or can you simply manually input that info to the printer via the screen. I guess the gcode would contain all the relevant info you just need to work out which slot each colour is at? Ive never used a multi colour setup, always done it manually.. Thanks@@ristinnovations

The RFID tags are only for the Bambu filaments, but you are right that you can manually update the spool information (material & color) via the printer screen or Bambu’s Studio software. Depending on your budget, Bambu Lab offer their new P1S which is an enclosed printer, including the AMS for $949 or $699 without AMS. Also they will be launching something new on 9/20, but nobody knows what it will be yet. Good luck with your decision.

Despite all wonderful and positive reviews on youtube. This printer is fucking shit: the setup is not as easy as claimed by all reviewers: the QR code wich appears in the setup isn’t working. The actual one is hidden in the menu of the display. The AMS setup wasn’t working according to the manual or videos. And from bambulab you can expect absolutely no support. It’s probably just a letterbox company. I can’t even return the printer, because nobody responds. I bought it, because I’m a beginner and wanted an easy start, but the opposite is absolutely the truth. Therefore Istrongly recommend not to buy this printer.

watching this at work, i did install it this morning by watching other content creators and now thinking about it, i wish i had found your video this morning because you did a great presentation, you knew what you are doing and what is coming up like that foam under the bed being released from calibration, some people just skipped it, making me try to pull it from the top. I had 3 flashforges in 2 months (3pro 4 pro and 4 pro) that now i have returned them all and got a bambu x1, my latest prints on flashforge were all perfect by calibration and glue, even the build plates were not getting 1 scratch. Still my first print on X1 detached from the glue once almost done, so i need to learn it better. This time i dont have the amazon return advantage so i gotta be careful
