Thanks for the shout out Jim! Nice review on the load. I need to look into one of those. I used to have access to electronic loads at work that could do hundreds of amps and hundreds of volts. I miss that capability.

Any time! I needed the darn thing when I was troubleshooting the Astron PSU. Better late than never. The more power it can handle, the price gets stupid high, real fast. This one should do for most anything I need, I hope.

Battery tests do not need many dynamic load tests, maybe a bit for the BMS. But linear supplies do, and switching supplies much more so. Attaching a storage scope will capture finer over/under-shoots better than the load.

Lee, that is probably more advanced than I am going to use it for currently(see what I did there!). I've read that one of the downsides of this unit is that it is slow on response. Hooking the scope to it would work out well.

It looks very advanced and very cool. I dont think I need one yet but I'll add it to my big wish list.🙏😊

really wish all linear power supply reviews were like this

Thanks for the review. Do you have a link for the PC SW? Does it run on Windows 11?

It does run on Win 11, I don't have a link, you'll need to google for "East Tester 5410 software"

Hi Jim I use a extra power resistor like the ones used for dump loads for solar, with my electronic load for higher current tests, Thanks Dave 2E0DMB

Great tip! I suspect this should do me for most applications (so far), but that's a solid idea. I need to get some big boy resistors.

Also they will get hot, fit in to a box with a fan, like you would do with a rf dummy load, Also for long videos Also use silicone insulation wire leads, Keep them coming, Dave 2E0DMB
