Let me tell you guys something interesting about this specific video.....I made this specific one in a car with laptop while waiting outside my wife's work. She was taking to long to finish with work and I got bored in the car haha. You'll notice the audio in this video sounds different than most of my other videos. The laptop in the car is the reason for the audio haha. Now you know :P

Most welcome Brandon. Well considering that voucher is about to expire, you might as well go give it a shot since you're going to lose the voucher anyway if you don't so win or lose, either way you can say you tried ey :D Do you have any prior networking experience? Not that it matters, just asking out of curiousity

Hope you guys enjoy this first lesson of the new CompTIA Network+ N10-008 course. As stated in my videos, I'm going to chop this course up into smaller videos. It makes it easier for me to make them because of editing and all that and it also makes it easier for people to digest in one sitting. Off Topic: I picked up that a lot of ad's showing specifically on this video is about either "models" or 'modeling" lmao. It has NOTHING to do with this video but I suspect it's KZbin's algorithm that is picking it up incorrectly. The algorithm sees the words "OSI Model" in my video tags and description and then it THINKS my video is about modeling lmao. If you got a ad about models/modeling displayed to you, let me know here. I'm just curious :)

Wow that's commitment, impressive. Yeah I try not to waste people's time with the lessons. I try to cover what they need to know as easily and quickly as possible since most folks don't have time to waste. A lot of people are working and have kids so they don't exactly have time to study xD

Hey! How’s the studying going, planning to start studying for this today and would just like to see what other people’s timeframes are for studying so I can get a good idea of the tike it will take roughly (no IT experience or anything similar whatsoever)
@themevrouwdewi5 ай бұрын
@@endreh8406 I'm about done, but have my exam planned for April 25. Deliberately did that because that's my birthday and I can't really financially afford to fail, so more incentive for me to not mess it up. How much time you need for it really depends on how much time you have on your hands. If you're able to dedicate a few hours a day (including the weekends) I personally think it should be manageable in 4-5 weeks. My advice would be dedicate yourself to it, no excuses, no slacking off. Use multiple methods of studying (of which at least half of them active, i.e. listening to a video course and making notes, or use quizlet to quiz yourself on terminology/ports/cramming stuff) and multiple sources (for instance, video courses that you actively watch, practice exams, app on your phone, video course you listen to while you play a game or something). I would take this exam seriously, I've heard it's the most difficult one of the trifecta. It helps if you can pass this exam really comprehending at least 90% of the material, it'll make Sec+ so much easier. PS - I have zero IT experience as well.

This is the second time I'm going over this video (making study notes), this is better than majority of the courses I've completed on Udemy. Is there a particular book you would recommend for those who want to get into the nitty gritty of networking? Thank you for making these videos :)
@BurningIceTech2 жыл бұрын
wow I feel honored :) Book wise it's been a while since I've used books so I'm probably not the best person to ask but of the top of my head some's book I saw that explained things pretty well in my opinion was a book by "Todd Lammle" He has done many books of the years. He did books for other CompTIA courses like A+ and then also vendors like Cisco. His books are available in both physical copies as well as digital copies. You'll see there are different versions of his books. He usually makes a new one if a new version of a course comes out. If your going to look for Network+, look for his "N10-008" book. His Cisco CCNA book also has some really good content that explains networking very well but unfortunately you'll also find some stuff in that book then that is specific to Cisco like commands used ect

Hello sir much thanks for your efforts you do not know How did you help people and I have a question for you can I just takes notes from the video and pass the exam with flying color or there Is a manaul or book?!!!!!! Thanks again
@BurningIceTech2 жыл бұрын
Well if you watch all the videos from this course and you understand them well then you should be able to pass the exam. I wouldn't say with flying colors though because that will depend on how much real world experience you currently have. Assuming someone has no real world experience at all yet then they should still pass the exam by watching the videos but just not with flying colors :) There are many manuals you can use to supplement your studies and which one you use is up to you but some good ones would be to use the official CompTIA manual for this course or maybe go look up the author "Todd Lammle". He has some pretty great books for CompTIA courses and also some other courses like Cisco.

Wouldn't the NIC be at level 1 instead of level 2?
@BurningIceTech2 жыл бұрын
That's really good question. Your correct in the sense of the NIC being something "physical" you can touch which would normally be Layer 1 but the NIC also has a MAC address. When transmitting data, die NIC includes it's MAC address in the header. Usually the rule of thumb is, the device is classified at the highest layer/level on which it operates and in this case since the MAC address falls on Layer 2, that would be highest layer so thus the NIC falls on Layer 2. If it wasn't for the MAC address, it would have indeed fallen solely on Layer 1 :)
