Part 5: • Compton Cops: Baby Lan...
Part 3: • Reggie Wright Sr. on "...
Part 1: • Compton Cops on Biggie...
--------
In this clip, Reggie Wright Jr. started off asking former Compton Police Dept. officer Bobby Ladd about the Mexican gangs he dealt with as an officer. Ladd started off speaking about the Compton Varrio Setentas, who were at war with several sets of Crips known as “ATF,” Acacia, Town, and Farms. Ladd then explained that he had to tell a back story that starts after the 1992 riots in Los Angeles following the beating of Rodney King. Ladd pointed out that two officers were killed around that time, and he added that things continued to get worse in 1993 when the Mexican mafia put out an order to take over the territories of the Black gangs in Compton. Ladd then shares a story about a violent incident between the gangs, which he investigated, and they found the van of the suspected gang members. Inside the van, they found one man, who Ladd said they got to cooperate, and who also told the entire story. He revealed how Mexican gang members killed two ATF members in retaliation for a killing during a robbery earlier that day. Reggie Wright Sr. then spoke about how he remembers the Mexican and Black gang members getting along until the Mexican mafia made the order to take over the streets changed everything. When asked about how many shootings happened between the crews, Ladd estimated that they investigated around 3-4 murders and 15 shootings at the time.

Vlad is a great businessman but a dick at the same time. He could release full videos but decides to make them into sections. If he can get 100k views (probably low estimate) 10 times on a 10 part video, he will. Why do 1 full length for 100k when you can get 1 million because you piece it out. I'm going to stop watching his videos.

On December 20, 1998, "Veterano" Tortilla Flats member Phillip Avolli was shot and killed. A "veterano" refers to a person who has been a gang member for a long period of time and often directs younger gang members to carry out gang- related crimes. Fruit Town Piru members Cheatham and Derrick Ballard, and Fruit Town Piru associate Frank Kiper, were standing nearby when Avolli was killed. On December 31, 1998, persons suspected of being Tortilla Flats members fired upon three Fruit Town Piru members. On the date of Avolli's funeral, a Tortilla Flats member who had just attended the funeral shot at four or five Fruit Town Piru gang members on the street. On May 25, 1999, Lavar Higgins, who associated with the Tree Top Pirus, was shot and killed on the street. Tortilla Flats member Jorge Diaz was tried and convicted of the crime. On June 6, 1999, Fruit Town Piru member Robert Hall was chased in his car and fired upon, causing his car to crash. On June 17, 1999, Fruit Town Piru member Shawn Horn was shot and killed. Fresh Tortilla Flats graffiti at the shooting site was superimposed over Fruit Town Piru graffiti, a gesture of disrespect so serious that it could result in the shooting of the graffitist. On June 21, 1999, an apartment complex known to be frequented by Fruit Town Piru and Tree Top Piru gang members was fired upon. On July 6, 1999, another residence known as a Fruit Town Piru "hangout" was fired upon by "two car loads" of persons. Fruit Town Piru graffiti at the location was crossed out by the slogans "T- Flats" and "Fruit Town Killers." On July 10, 1999, Tortilla Flats gang members walked up to Fruit Town Piru member Marlin Thomas and shot him several times. On July 11, 1999, 12- year- old Jose Perez, who was having lunch with his family at a Compton restaurant, was shot and killed when Fruit Town Piru member Robert Hall fired into a crowd of people. Hall was convicted of the crime. On July 16, 1999, a car was "shot up" at an apartment complex frequented by Fruit Town Piru members, and a bullet grazed a male African American's face. On July 19th, 1999, Fruit Town member Lorenzo Brooks was shot at by Tortilla Flats members, damaging his car. On September 10, 1999, the day before the instant murders, Fruit Town Piru member Derrick Ballard was murdered

@@o4tw382 Bro I see you are from Compton, I'm from London but find the whole LA gang stuff interesting. From what I've seen through the years I came to the conclusion that Fruit Town Piru is one of the real heavyweight hoods in Compton especially amongst Pirus, is that true? Heard many stories that even some crip gangs didn't want to mess with them in the real banging days.
