We asked Hima and Kool A.D. from Das Racist to host a hip-hop show for Noisey - they kept things simple and named it RAP SHOW. For the first episode, Hima sat down with Compton MC Kendrick Lamar on St. Patrick's Day to talk about black hippies, the N word, lucid dreaming, and Home Improvement.

When we were trying to name our new rap show a bunch of garbage ideas were tossed around-thankfully, Das Racist was around to cut through the bullsh*t and name it RAP SHOW. Hima and Kool A.D. from DR will be trading off duties for the show, conducting a series of interviews with the best rappers on the planet.

Best interview ever... We all wanna see these rappers as everyday people and not as "celebrities" so this was cool to watch.. I guess its cause kendrick isnt a sellout so he still remains a normal chill dude.. Like he said, he doesnt consider himself famous.

I know, that'd be fantastic. Heems & Kool both are some of the best and most inspiring rappers & artists out right now. Maybe a little abstract for your avg listener of hip-hop, but I think it's more of an initial attraction problem rather than accessibility. People just need to hear an extra few verses and beats here and there, and I feel like they'd gain a lot more fans. How was this at all awkward? Both seemed really relaxed and like they were just chatting. It wasn't at all like a typical interview in that sense. I much preferred it. Go elsewhere if you want to know the answers to those generic questions every other interviewer asks.
