Compustar RF-2W901-SS 2-way LCD remote brief look.

This is a brief look at the Compustar RF-2W901-SS 2-way lcd remote and 1-way companion remote starter and alarm. The 2-way LCD remote is finally rechargeable!
It is pared with a Compustar FT6000AS Brain.
***If you would like to know anything else, I would be glad to help.***
** In the video I said that the 1-way remote has about 1000 feet of range, that is not true, it actually has the full 1 Mile range as well. **

Wow, learned something new. Had this same 2-way remote for over 6 years and never knew about the remote button-lock on holding the function key for 4 seconds. I even looked in my manual and it doesn't even mention it. Thanks man!

Hi, do you know if there's a way to turn the remote OFF? To turn ON is "F" for 3 seconds. Also, my clock will not display on the remote? I have the newer DC-3 brain. Is the clock dictated by the brain model? Lastly, is the specific timed start also dictated by the brain? The DC-3 brain seems to only allow timed start every 2, 3, 4 hours, or using the brain's temp sensor. But it looks like no option for a specific start time? Thank you!

Yes the batteries can be replaced. Keep in mind you have 2 year remote warranty, thus you can just have the remote exchanged from compustar.

I have the one way remote as seen in this video. But lately it isn't functioning. Whenever any button is pressed, the two lights blinks thrice with 0.5 secs pause unlike blinking rapidly which it used to normally. need help thanks

I'm having issues turning my shock sensor back on even trying these steps so back to the installer I go. The battery life on both remotes is fantastic. The rechargeable lasts me about a month n a half. I drive aprox 200 miles a day with many, many stops so it's getting used for sure.

Is the antenna the signal strength? because the manual says: This icon is displayed if the last communication to the vehicle was successful. and btw, the battery lasts way longer than 1 bar= 1 day, I'm at the 3rd day and it's still not gone down. Well, the "remote" isn't what's installed on the 2001 blazer. The Compustar "brain unit" or CPU is what's installed. Are you wanting to move the brain from Car-1 to Car-2? It might be messy and a bit costly, but I'm sure it could be done. However, you should talk to a local Compustar installer to be sure. Which you've probably already done since your question is over a year old.

Li Batteries are very good and have a long life, you should not need replace the battery until well after 2-3 years.

This is a remote start and alarm combo. You need to have the right "brain" to have both capabilities. I have the FT6000AS (AS = alarm + start), also they have a FT6200S (S= start). Finally there is also the FT6300A (A = alarm). So you should ask your installer what brain he used, the remote does not determine if it can start your vehicle or not. Hope this helped.

Open charging port, take the phillips screw and you should be able to take it apart... I have a question, if somebody hits your car and triggers 1 stage shock(just enough to give you warning), do you see notification on remote all the time? Does it beeps all the time until it gets your attention?

Yep. The RPS icon is a phone handset icon that shows up in front of the car. The Vibration icon looks more like a beeper w/wavy lines and shows up in the top row with the other icons. You turn RPS on/off like you do the other functions: Press the car and key buttons for 2.5 secs. Press the Function key until you see "RPS On" (or Off); then press the Lock button to change what you see. Press the car and key buttons again to exit the programming function.

Hi. I'm not sure it is possible to autostart in low voltage because it's a safety precaution. Maybe if you look through the manual, there could be a way to disable the low voltage cut out feature, but then you run the risk of draining you battery and not being able to start at all. Press "car/trunk" and "key/start" together for 2.5 secs. Then press "F" until you see the Time setting appear. Press Unlock to change the minutes; Press Lock to change the hours. When done, either do nothing for approx. 10 seconds or Press the car and key buttons again to exit the programming function.
