Hey man. Appreciate the video. Avid Grasshopper fan. I got some questions man. As I was doing computational designs and got into Galapagos and other machine learning tools, I slowly realized that the dependence of these tools actually kills me as a designer. Optimization is a tool, I get that but let's say 10 years from now, even with the availability of architects employment fleeting because of BIM, are we just iterating more choices in a choice redundant world? So many questions about who architects are now and will be in the future.

Thanks for the overview. Just putting the words "Computation" and "Design" is a challenging task and it requires us to analyze each domain in depth and see if and how they can be bridged. Here I do that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGeoloh5drejY5I . Parametric and generative design focus on employed techniques, whereas Computational Design is a term that focuses more on the theoretical understanding of the subject. Plus, to answer most of the questions in the comments, the human component should be made more focal.

I am sorry to say, that this video fails to say that parametricism is an architectural style, whose instances are been brought on by architects like Patrik Schumacher, Neri Oxman, Ma Yansong and many others, while generative and computational design are the means to achieve it.

But most of these designs are rubbish. If you did them yourself you could have designed 2 very good models.
