Hey Bill thanks for this tutorial I was wondering though how long does the Fiberglass filler last while its in the can after use. Like if when I got done with it and had extra filler left and I put the lid on how long will it last without curing. I was also wondering if this would be good to fill in holes like a Floppy drive slot and a Power button hole. Thanks again.

Hey I just painted my case with a high gloss black paint but i'm kind of scared now to put the side panel screws on because I don't want to damage the paint. What can I use so I don't damage it?

God dam it all I hate watching these videos. It makes me so sad/mad to know that I will never have a work room, or the money, to do case mods in. It's a hobby that I have had for years even though I have never been able to do it. The best that I can hope for is living vicariously through youtube videos. =..(

It's not the best idea to touch bare metal that you're planning to paint with your hands even with self etching primer. The oils from your fingers will keep the primer from really sticking and overall will cause the paint to chip and flake off, also, if you're using any non-aluminum metals that haven't been rust treated it will cause rust pockets underneath the paint over time.

Wouldn't it have been easier to use a bigger batch of filler with a small amount of hardener....maybe do it in a cool place, so you can spend less time mixing it? I used to do some work for a fiberglass company and I used to mix up batches that were sometimes a half-gallon of filler, and I still had about 12-15 minutes to work on it, more in the winter when it was cold.

just a comment or imfo dude..SEM self etch prime used for bare steal only...when you sanded side panels with P grade 400 grit sandpaper...no need to prime...blow it off tack it and paint it. A body shop guy here...TC Dave from Canada

Does the fan blow out or in? the videos never said, that I remember. If this was done for function it would have been much better to have the fan on the top of the case as hot air is light and moves up having a fan to exhaust the heat.

For those little air pockets you revealed after you sanded, you can buy a little tube of quick drying paint - that is like bondo but more flexible and faster drying. It would save you waiting some extra time. Just to let you know. =)

@TheBMXStreetlife, 400 wet-sandpaper, if you only want to prepare the surface of the old paint. if you want to sand it down to the metal, 120 - 180 will get the job done.
