I am in CS at VWCC and found out if I want to VT I need to switch to EGR CS which mean I will not be able to use some of the classes I already took that are only for CS, but I think is worth it, getting into VT would be a big goal for me. Hi! I made sure to do my own cs projects, join various CS clubs that were centered on specific topics that I enjoyed, and practiced competitive programming problems now and then :)

If you are taking AP Computer Science A, then yes, that corresponds to CS 1114 at VT. If you achieve at least a 3 on the exam, then you don't need to take CS 1114 (or test out of CS 1114) :)

As an Indian high-schooler, tryna figure out stuff and shortlisting colleges for my college apps, THIS WAS SO HELPFUL; THANK YOU SO MUCH and also, in my high school I don't have any core "SCIENCE" subjects and I'm a commerce student, so basically I have like accounts, econ, math, business studies and English. Sooo, will my 0 knowledge of science subjects in the 11th and 12th grade make it difficult for me to get into this programme? or make it harder for me to study once I'm in?

Yes you can! I took my first cs class during the spring semester of my freshman year

You should be guaranteed your preferred major, as long as you obtain a 3.0 gpa your freshman year :)
