Hi I tried this and noticied that the transformer inside the ups is getting over heated after using for about 2 hours and ups gets shutdown. So I think since computer ups is desigened to support only for 30 minutes backup they have not included cooling fan ie transfomer will work only for 30 minutes to convert dc to AC from battery during power failure... when power is there transformer will not heat much as it charges the battery @ regular intervals not all the time.. So i think transformer will get burn out soon.. so do we need additional cooling fan to solve this?

12V DC ok but what about Amp , this type of ups is not suitable to charge more than 14 ah battery , if it charge it will take more time and also damage the ups circuit board , plan is ok but you need to charge the battery seperately then connect ups it will work safely , (and also try 7ah to 80 ah battery only) i use the same formula working fine ,and don't forget to ad extra fan for cooling ups board it will give more life

ups timer for only 5 min to indicate the shut down the connect system. for ex if you connect laptop in battery mode, it will take at least to discharge the battery 45 min. ups specification is only 15 min. backup for CPU and monitor., if lesser wattage connect will get more backup min.

A small qustn about computer UPS maintenance. If its a new and good condition battery. Is it good for battery health to leave it to discharge to full at least once in 3 months etc ? Bec else its always maintained at full by trickle charge right ? When power is getting cut once every 2-3 days, is it better to quickly shut down the PC to avoid draining the battery or fully use the 30 mins backup time which im getting and then shutdown during final quick beeps ? If its healthier to quickly shut down and always maintain high battery level, then should we once in a while do a full drain and recharge is my qstn ?
