Man, this place is all my dreams. You should work with schools that do games and software development to get people interested in the industry, especially that 3rd floor with the game inspecting ideas. That is a neat idea of snapshotting game concepts and prototypes to show off how the ideas behind the games actually work. Some things like Raspberry Pis, Arduinos and similar to make little games would be a fun activity as well. There are loads of little game-dev libraries out there for putting together simple prototypes in a 30 minute (at most) period even for newbies.

This is surprisingly neat. I had a chance to visit the MoMA exhibit featuring video games as art a while back; I was disappointed they wouldn't allow the visitors to interact with the games on display. As I watched this it occurred to me that a different type of game could be run there. Imagine two teams. Four players per team. The set up is similar to the bridge of Star Trek. The Captains actually does not touch a keyboard but watches the main display or listens to reports from the other players. Each of the other players per team maintain consoles for navigation, shields and weapons/tractor beams and interact with their own captain for orders or to report status. I can see that not only would the players have something to engage them but also have something of interest for an audience...

See "Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator", which would be great with a full room installation in a place like this. But I get the feeling the place is aimed more at 5-12 year olds than anyone who'd enjoy a game like that.

@TheBoundFenrir8 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you're going for. It has the most buttons, and in a layout that allows you to reach them all, sure. ...but if I'm playing a platformer, I find an analog stick is way better for aiming your jumps than wsad (and any jumping mechanic using the mouse tends to be...iffy...)
@harbingerofwarx9958 жыл бұрын
*in most circumstances. There are plenty of times where a controller gives an advantage, like driving vehicles, though most of the time a flight stick or steering wheel will be superior to a traditional controller.
@taiefmiah8 жыл бұрын
depending on your game. even for fps. an analogue stick and mouse is pretty much the peak
@callummunro73808 жыл бұрын
I find a keyboard and mouse works the best for almost every game, but I've gamed on computer since I was a young kid. The only stuff that it doesn't work for is driving, and then I have a good gaming steering wheel.
@Stigsnake58 жыл бұрын
I cannot play k&m with most 3rd person games, analogue sticks just feels right. Platformers dependant on the game but usually controller is better suited.

what coding is used for 3 Dimensional games? I know 2D games, but not 3D.
@Oli4148 жыл бұрын
Programming 2D games is exactly the same as 3D games, just with a few things that need an extra dimension. Pretty much any programming language can be used to create a 3D game as long as you're able to render stuff.

ok, thanks, but 2d sounds easier tho O.o
