Comrades - Ardyn and Ravus solo, no damage

Yes, I know the recording skips slightly at the very start. PS4 does that sometimes, nothing I can do about it, those frames are gone.

at 4:03, did you just get a really lucky glitch, or is the video not synced correctly or something? It looks like you dodged later than the laser, and from what I remember, that laser is an insta-kill (not even just going down to Danger). either way, this was glorious to watch, and best of all, i finally see the timing for that stupid ardyn royal arms spread attack that always downs me even across the bloody arena. damn. AND this wasn't a Rampage cheese either. why are you so bloody awesome, omfg. also, seriously just seeing you managing to keep watch of both of them, like holy crap, wow...

Ok, so the laser is a little difficult to explain, but I'll try. I didn't actually dodge it, I blocked it. This has to do with how the same button is used for barrier and dodge roll. Barrier is activated on press of the button, while dodge roll happens on release (if it was held down for a short enough time). This is why it seems like the dodge roll is out of sync, because I pushed the button down just before the laser hit me, but only released it after the laser had passed my character (technically, I could have just held it and not taken damage either, but I wasn't actually going for a block, it was an accident). The reason why I don't lose any MP is because of the perfect block phenomenon, if you time your barrier just as an enemy attack is about to land, it costs 0 MP to use and seemingly can block anything (I've blocked Omega's instakill cannon with it). And you don't see the barrier itself materialize, because it gets animation cancelled into a dodge roll on the first few frames.

Only this man knows how to play FFXV. I guess these fights give this game a flair of traditional (turn-based) Final Fantasy superbosses, where you had to grind to get important equipment, then study the enemy's attacks, make yourself immune to stuff (like Lightning or Death) and gradually bring them down.

I mean this amazing fight requires deep insight of the so many obscure mechanics of the game, such as the weapons that few people use, the martial arts etc. But my point was that this requires good strategizing, unlike the majority of FFXV which was holding O and attacking until things died.

@@asetoniffxv22 I think you used to be able to. When you created an additional character in the original Nov 2017 DLC, didn't it have the meal effects of the last character you took on a mission?

@@AlgorhythmPSII That's a good point, you used to be able to do that. Theoretically someone might still have a character like that. Not that it's that big of a deal, the damage loss from one level is just 2%, but it certainly would look nicer in the loading screens if the level was 1 instead of 2 :D

Thanks! It did, more attempts than I can count. Most of the time it just ended with Ardyn warp striking me off-screen or Ravus hitting me in the back while I was paying attention to Ardyn.

how did you prevent from leveling up? your character is at level 2 but you have weapons that requires you to fight more to obtain them

I just created a new character by talking to the guy near the tent in Lestallum. All gear and items is shared between all the characters you have. The reason why I'm level 2 and not 1 is because I had to do a single mission to get the food buff, which leveled my character up.

Nope. Ardyn is immune to all spells, you'll have to use a physical build to beat them.

No, Comrades has an entirely separate character and equipment system.

There is a food buff that you can buy from the potions lady that makes all materials add 30% more stats on a weapon when crafting. I used that together with Curved Hollowhorns to build my weapons.

Ravus must have hit you with a katana and resistance doesn't help( i Need help times with the two) xD once had a good account but that's gone I'm now level 68 with Dragon whisker honebami and so it doesn't work so can someone help me?

He probably used sentinel X on both weapons for a 30% Chance to evade all damage, and the witches crafting buff + Behemoth incisors or curved hollowhorns.. Strength gemstones could do it as well. I stacked sentinel X on the mutant mace, and am pretty much unkillable, lol. "read the description" fucking troll, lol.

He might also be using threat strike on 1 of the weapons to lure Ravus.. I don't think he's using Sentinel afterall. Just hella good at dodging, and has their movements memorized. I'de like to see what level the character he used for farming is on. Might be using Penetrator X as well. Both weapons have Rush boost already equipped. II on the Yagyyu, and X on the Gilgamesh. I love those daggers, and have 2 sets. I prefer a rounded build, and it was enough for all of the quests, with the help of Diaga on "A familiar fright, and Dave-Ja vu, but it's not getting me anywhere with these assholes. I can only get the 20% Crafting buff as well, and can't save it thanks to it being patched.
