Tremendous brutality of song! Unbelievable! Just wow!

I love every bit of this band. Love the drums. Love the vocals and the minimalistic guitar style. Love the bass. But I think the keyboard player is really the unsung hero of this band. I love his arrangements and countermelodies. Listen to this song or Alicia and you will understand what I mean.

Comsats forever! Fellows top singer. Great song. Most underrated band of the 80s, for sure.

Always have a mischievous urge to change 'big bad world' to 'wicked world', but otherwise this is one of the best songs by one of the greatest bands of the 1980s. Drums and keyboards, whatever, but Glaisher and Peake combine to take this one to a whole new level. Fellows' first declaration of ''there's always something else' never fails to move me. Fellows echoes this song in the equally grand And All The Stars (1992), check it out, seemingly as simple as a children's lullaby, but much more to it. Comsats once supported U2, who could only dream of being half as good. While Bono has his Lithuanian mall to manage, and The Edge fights to build his vanity project atop a Malibu mesa, the genius Fellows subsists in virtual obscurity. Such is life.

Always has been a musicians band, and to be fair both the Edge and Charlie Burghill of Simple Minds thought highly of CA, I remember several interviews from that era. But yeah... the band that shaped my outlook on music a lot.

Agree on all accounts except for the lyrics. Given this is likely something 'she' is saying or something she believes.... I believe 'big bad' works better than 'wicked' because it's clumsy and obvious. As in "oh, the big bad world is against you and your ambitious plans". Just my opinion.

@Stephen Saunders yeah, I saw Comsat Angels twice in the early 80s. The second time, in 1982 I think, they were supporting U2 at the Kings Hall in Stoke-on-Trent. As your comment suggests, they blew U2 off the stage! A phenomenal performance! And yet there has been no sign of them over the last decades, rather we have had to suffer Bonio and his pompous, yet fatuous, nonsense ever since.

I agree - and ditto the amazing latter half of the 'B'' side single (not the demo) 'Something's Gotta Give' - a real gem that was never on the 'Chasing Shadows' vinyl lp - only on side B of 'The Cutting Edge' single...........
