Con Funk Shun Bass Jam Sire V9 Slap bass 80's FUNK

Just having some unrehearsed fun with this great track by Con Funk Shun called Happy Face, it had been in my head today so thought I'd have another go at it, few fluffs, some jammin' and some FUNK! Halo filter from my phone on as I looked knackered haha
Bass - Sire V9 w/ Rotosound 45-105 - EQ all flat, master tone 100%
Effects - Boss GT6B, straight with no effects for most of it apart from when obvious
Amp - Trace Elliot GP11 MK5 (minor treble/bass boost)
Recorded via Presonus Audiobox USB and Mixpad

Those 6 little notes of the chorus are so heady, yes it's a great piece; I already liked your first version of this track, with that so special tone of your bass, but 12 years later, and the obvious improvement of your playing, it,s even more a treat to listen to; And the Halo filter is super, IMHO

I am trying to calm things down and lay the groove down better... Time and place for all the mad stuff! First version, bass sounded awful, never did get a good slap tone on that Schecter! Some songs just require a jazz bass tone, it fits right and it sits in the mix well. I need a Musicman bass too though, heard an Ibanez ATK that gives a great MM and jazz tone, so quite tempted, need to get more snarl from the Sire!
