His exploits came to an end the same year as the Great Recession, after mortgages had been extended to borrowers who couldn't repay them, and the selloff led to a credit crisis and over-leveraged banks. The adrenaline of tempting fate can become an addiction whether you're a scam artist or an institution.

This guy is still lying. He makes up as he goes. You are not a good sales man, if you were you wouldn’t need to commit fraud!

He stole people's social security information and ran up millions in debt so yeah it makes sense he did over a decade in prison.

He's such an altruist! 'I made $5,500 on each fraudulent loan to unqualified applicants by charging a $3,500 mortgage broker fee and raising the loan interest rate by 50 basis points to get a $2,000 kickback from the banks! Yay4me!'

I think it just shows the guy has a conscience, he knew he was doing something wrong, he was lying to himself to justify the fraud he was committing, maybe to make himself feel better about taking the money.

"Caveat emptor" (Buyer beware!) is still the golden rule in a capitalist market. Gotta shop around ... if everyone BUT this guy turned you down, then (and only then) that's your best choice
