With the construction hammer, if you select the item you are about to craft and try to place it in the world (even if you don't have the mats), it will remember that selection once you pick up your materials. This will save you the time of having to navigate back to the item in the menu again. If you don't try to place the item you want to craft, it will revert back to the last item you placed. Huge tip for thralling is to bring the wheel of pain with you. That way you don’t have to drag them far and risk them glitching out. I used to keep one at each of the best thralling spots.

I had an armorer spawn right close to base, then fall through the world when I was dragging him back to the wheel 🙄 I didn't realize you could try to get him to pop back up if you leave the area momentarily. Thanks for the tip, and the great videos!

OMG, Barachan Reiver is still the HP Armourer for Thralls. This is a vanilla level 10 Armour that comes comes withe the feat for light, medium, & heavy.

Defeat bird creatures: There's an ostrich farm right in front of the Summing Place. Feathers from vulture nest: there are 2 nests with enough feathers on a climbable rock, river side, by the croc world boss. I got 14 yesterday.

Fastest way to get your heavy leather is to take the road trip to Sepermeru and loot all the boxes around the city. Bring something to carry it because you will be encumbered very quickly. You will also get a lot of steel from the boxes.

Though the various steps to getting a Thrall were, as always, well explained...for myself, MOST useful to know was discovering just how to 'reset' the scene by running away some distance - if your knocked-out Thrall has the cheek to disappear. (But - lesson noted - get the bindings on asap, ultimately!) Also, Angaar, your various asides as to the ongoing lack of fixes over the various Game versions were interesting! Very helpful.

Well, you're responsible for quite a lot, young Angaar! Since my last comment here I've got really into Thralls - having never bothered with any ever before, in some years of playing CE, albeit quite casually. However, you explain things so well that even an old fart like me thinks 'Ooh - actually, that doesn't seem so difficult as I thought''''. Result: So far I've whipped about 15 thralls into shape. Now, most of them are T1 or T2 - but they still give me speed increase. Every one of my workstations - blacksmith's bench, tannery, right through to the Tinker' and artisan's table's - now has a thrall beavering away...and I've got a dancer (and I don't even HAVE Corruption 'on' in my game!), a T4 Smelter; Armourer in the Tanner's table - The Lot! .... I also bought an actual truncheon, and I'm gonna try the same approach on our Milkman tomorrow morning.... I'll let you know how it goes. So, what with all my Thralls and also using Pets, I've become a massively stronger character, and now my whole enjoyment of Conan Exiles has rocketed. Thank you!!!

I was able to use my named noob river thrall to get a Relic Hunter Treasure Seeker. My thrall was level 13 at the time and we both had iron truncheons with blunt modifiers.

I've also experienced the bug of a knocked out guy falling through the ground. On a server I just exit to menu and log back in and he's back. But I don't believe this works on single player as that makes everything respawn. Anyway love your videos, learning a lot

OMG, we never build a firebowl cauldron until level thirty when the cost drops from 2x brimstone + 1x tar, down to 1x brimstone + 1x tar in the improved cauldron. I can understand why players use potions ALL the time, even when out of combat? Fyi, falling through the world is a Unreal Engine 4 bug. I always think stitch is 3x hide, I always get that wrong. At level 26? You learn the Armour Weight Reduction Kits, & Durability Kits. We give Tralls Armour Plates, and either Damage, or Armour Penetration.

There is 100% chance for fighter spawn just across the river from your base 18:18. Funny you forgot about that spot. Also near the Broken bridge there is another spot with 100% chance to spawn named one.

What helps on servers is log out and on again if a dude fell through the world. Doesnt halp when you play local on your pc.....cause it simply spawns stuff new there

Initially you find it from the Conan Exiles wiki, but now I know when you check the thrall/pets inventory to see what they eat, I know which slot does what. i.e bottom left is +14 Strength chance boost, 3rd in from the top is +14% Vitality, etc

I'm having quite a bit of an issue with the blunt javelin I don't remember having before.. named enemies die with it long before the stun meter drains even a fraction.. somehow its 1 health damage does huge amount of actual damage to named enemies, is there a way to sort this out?

Concussion damage seems to effect named different from T1-3 now. More Authority seems to be the answer. Sadly you can't mod Blunted Javelin, but blunted mods to truncheons help too

@@AngaarUK yeah it seems that the truncheon is the way to go, put a concussive mod in to iron truncheon and now I have a named one skull fighter coming on the wheel and even the truncheon did a lot of health dmg but she still had about half health left when she got stunned.. some very odd things they did in this update..

How come you're not using the Tanner's bench to strip the reptile hide into hide rather than putting it in the tannery

It works out the same if you want to go straight to leather. You only need to strip it if you are actually wanting hide

On my server the crafting cost is lowered, so you actually get more hide from stripping it. At default rates you actually loose out on leather if you strip it down instead of just putting the reptile hide into the tannery.

@@mattsmith2247 I don't think any of it changed. Regularly, 1 reptile hide gives 2 Leather + 1 Tar; or 2 hide when stripped. But you need 3 Hide to make one leather, so you basically throw away about half of the leather if you strip them down. With lower crafting costs you can strip 1 reptile hide into 2 hide and convert that 1:1 so you win out.

Ive been watching your episodes, and am new to this game. how do you know what food to give the thralls ( fighter three you said grilled steak, why would you give greul)?

If you check their inventory you will see the foods they will eat. Each gives a different boost to the chance of levelling a stat with each level they get. Top row, 3rd from the left gives 14% boost to Vitality - Grilled Steak for this guy. Bottom row, 1st left gives 14% boost to Strength - Gruel for this guy. So just check their stats, see what % chance they already have and give them the food that boosts the stat you want to increase.

@@paulgrimm6920 sadly it is either trial and error, or look it up on the wiki. It is Grilled Steak for +14% Vitality, Gruel for +14% Strength and Cooked Fish for +14% Agility. Remember the boost is only a chance and not guaranteed!

If u put the reptile hide innthe tanner table, u can strip it down into leather. I beleive it is ever 1 reptile gives 2 hide.

Dafari start with slightly better base stats than any exiles of the same tier. So a Dafari Fighter I is better than a XXX-Exile Fighter I. So the Dafari camps are better for fighters and Exiles for crafters. The bench, i dont know what its called in english, that allowes you to craft mods for armor, tools and weapons has a mod for the bludgeon to increase its stun damage. it really helps and is neccessary for the named ones. And i also always craft eficiency mods for tools and armor plating for the thrall armor. weight reduction for my own armor so that i can run around in heavy armor.

So if you go into Settings -> Keybinds you can bind the Command Attack option to a key (I use the F key), then you point at the mob and press the Attack key and they will go in first. Also the 1st perk in Authority increases your followers taunt/aggro

I'm new to the game and I'm loving your videos! Just out of curiosity, if you equip a thrall with a truncheon and let him attack, will he knock the npc out or does he do lethal damage? I won't be back to the game for a few days so I figured I'd ask and save myself some frustration.

So from my limited experience with the new system so far, a follower with a truncheon will know them out, but they don't seem to benefit from your Authority to increase concussive damage, so they do tend to do more physical damage than you. This works fine on T1-3 thralls, but tends to kill named thralls. Appears you need the top-level truncheons for thralls or to do the knock out yourself.

Sounds like it is bugged, you can tame thralls in the wheel at the same time as pets in the animal pen. Only thing I can suggest is to restart your game or server.

@@redjohn8324 you playing single player or on a server? On a single player you can go into settings, make yourself admin and adjust both the thrall and pet taming times. You can check my settings in the Description of my Ep.1 videos. Sounds like your fighter bugged out and instant tamed, on standard settings a T1 should take 1 hour, T2 should take 3.3 hours, T3 should take 6.5 hours and named T4 should take 25 hours!

Not seen any on my clean solo player restart I use for recording these videos, however on my lvl 60 character on my friends online server I summoned a Resurrected Corpse from the shallow grave and there was no animation of it rising out the grave, and I had issues with that being invisible on some logins. Too fix it I just had to log off the server and back on again and it re-appeared!

Due to the changes in 3.0 we are doing much more physical damage than concussion damage, so we was just killing them before we can knock them out. We needed to level up and get access to better truncheons, and get more points in Authority to increase our concussion damage.

Great video Angaar! I just want to ask not only you but whoever sees this comment.: Did anyone get alchemical base from any bearer pack since this update? I have a lvl 60 all geared up char on a EU server and restarted palying with him (ofcourse i had to start base from scratch because i didn't play in a month) but i collected like 20 of each bearer pack besided t4 and none had alchemical base ( i know it has to be t3 i just wandered if they changed it). Also heat/cold now takes a bit of a jogle (maybe they wanted those shields and wepons with tones of heat/cold bars to be put to good use) :P

I've killed that bearer in Sepa Maru (like Angarr told me too) at least once a day. I think he's been a III only once since the update and he definitely did no have the Alchemical base - I think it was 3 stacks instead of the usual 2 - maybe iron stone, Ivory, and brimstone...can't remember for sure. The last time I killed him - he was named - so I had to go back to my pyramid house and get my knock out goodies and come back and get him tamed up - so not sure what he would have been carrying.

Because of the guaranteed T4 fighter thrall spawn 30 meter away from your base was not obvious choice enough.... Also if you want heavy armor and you are willing to run to Sepermeru rhinos why don't just farm the chests in the city. 200+ heavy LEATHER, steel bars and a ton of midgame resource with less effort. (But based on your dragging instead of clicking inventory management method, you do not like to be efficient I guess.)

100% right about the bugs, and I believe by this time they never will (although some are Unreal Engine issues). Disagree about the "money grabbing", like the DLC's the Battle Pass is totally cosmetic and so is not required to play the game at all, so is completely optional. Yet the game does need to be funded some how, designers and devs don't work for free, so they do need some way of funding it as I can't imagine they take in a lot of money from game sales on an almost 6 year old game.

Oohhh... that is difficult! In single-player you are in full control of everything, but also don't have anyone to help you. Multiplayer with friends on a private server I would say is the best, but multiplayer on public servers can be very hit and miss as, you know what random people can be like on the Internet!

Every time I try to make friends they just end up plummeting my base and taking all my resources after hours and a week worth of time building it. Obviously I know what comes with pvp so I’m not to upset but it would be nice to find an actual official pvp servers not full of a holes. Kind of makes it unplayable when people just run a whole map. Like I get it but the game will never get any more popular if it doesn’t balance it out to make it where you can be challenged by newcomers. I believe you should only be able to build so many bases around the map and teleports at that.

Yep, I am not a PvP player at all, in any game. I like to build bases and to spend all that time and effort on resources, etc only to have it destroyed and your stuff taken is not my idea of fun!
