actually the eating thing in tv shows makes me chill and relax from within , I don't exactly know what that is but I really like those scenes in the show , I guess on the timeline those times are areas of rest , where not much stuff happens and there's no intensity or emotional stuff , like the comic store scenes, I LOVE them

The greatest food actor on TV ever was Jimmy Gandolfini as Tony Soprano. Watch any clip when he's in Artie's restaurant. He pokes around in his plate of pasta, and you're like WTF, is it too hot or what? And then you realise he has lines to say, and he can't be breaking Paulie's balls with a mouthful of baked ziti, to he has to time his mouthfuls to fit in with his lines, and he does it to perfection, every time.

Previously as an English teacher in a foreign language school in China, "Big Bang Theory" is so popular with the kids here, both as a form of entertainment and a tool to learn English (though I'll often tell them to watch something else because it's quite difficult to learn English through the jokes and local pop references), yet most people in China will have no idea what those white boxes are. What is a product of "Americanization" that is so mainstream in many Western countries is unfamiliar to a country of 1.3 billion - the origin of Chinese food. :)

Yep exactly. The word 'blocking' is a technical industry term that those who work in the industry will know and use with each other. However, if an actor is on a talk show or on some public forum, they're not going to use the industry terminology. They'll usually say something the public will understand as to not make them feel "out of the loop". It would be like if a neuro surgeon we're being interviewed on television, you wouldn't hear them say technical terms that the public doesn't understand. And in the case of blocking ...there are two types, camera blocking (rehearsing where the cameras are going to move and the types of shots they'll get) and then blocking for actors (figuring out the actions/movements the actor will do during a scene).

furthermore: i remember a scene at the cheesecake factory where sheldon was eating a burger, the burger was nearly intact during his part of dialogue but it was kinda in half during the part of dialogue of the person who he was talking to (when the camera was at his back and you couldn't see his face). so i guess that they shoot the lines of one carachter in one time and then the lines of the other and then do the montage; and through all of the shooting sheldon probably didn't take a single bite, they just cut the burger.

The actors are only picking at their food, not actually eating it, probably because the food is cold and nasty. It takes a while to shoot each scenes because they have to film the scene at different angles and who know how many times they mess up their line. It takes hours if not days to shoot a 30min long episode and I doubt anybody's really keeping the food warm. Also, you can't have food keep magically disappearing and re-appearing between each takes. You still notice wine glasses filling/emptying themselves but a whole plate of food will definitely be more distracting. So picking at food, lifting it with fork to your mouth but putting it down to say your line with occasionally actually nibbling on some food gives the illusion of eating without anyone actually eating more than necessary. With Leonard especially I think the actor is vegetarian or vegan so he purposely doesn't eat anything containing meat products unless he really needs to.

The production team think the elevator is a cool recurring feature of the show and has kept it in - but it's just f-ing annoying. They actually did at one point install a dining room table but, of course, Sheldon opposed it and so instead of telling Sheldon to go f himself all the others acquiesced - grrrrr!

I don't think Conan has watched much of the big bang theory. Cause I've only watched a few episodes but I know a lot of the show is them talking while eating a meal together. Most if not all have a scene with them sat eating together.
