Thing is...for special occassions they're not nice at all, because usually you have to stand for a long time. I wore high heels for a wedding and I stood there, outside the church, waiting for the bride to finish her awful make up. And for the people to make the music play-ready. And after the wedding, we stood around waiting for them to speech. And then it turns out the bride and groom left the wedding without saying goodbye (rude!) and just drove off. And then we had to walk back, on those same heels. My toe was bleeding. I will argue that boots with *a* heel are acceptable. So..heels are okay. High heels aren't. High heels is when you're tilting forward and can't walk. I very much agree with that. I've worn those once and I felt stupid, we were laughed at by everyone we passed, because we looked like dying deer.
