A family of actors writers composers. I got used! Been writing songs since I'm seven. Dad was a big producer. Gave my work all up for his own pocket or who to sleep with I gave the later part up being I met our pitchman first hand for many meetings. pilsung26 Yes 2 both...& more. Smug, brags about his Hollywood humanitarianism the average Joe couldn't provide. The 'poor man' part? Both r Oscar winners, but Penn's never had Clooney's level of star power (he likely doesn't care, but in private he probably says he passed on Ocean's 11😃). No one seeks outs Penn's opinions on current events; Hollywood doesn't know what 2 think/do until Clooney speaks on it.

Man, I read them totally differently than you. To me, Clooney seems to have a more groomed image, a more carefully sculpted persona, and less authenticity. Sean Penn seems deeply self-actualized and genuine, in comparison. Just goes to show how differently people can be impacted.

luvvinallmusik 57 Thanks :-) I do think Penn is the better actor by a slim margin. While I have many deep disagreements with Penn on foreign policy, he actually sticks his neck out. It's sort of like the difference between Jordan & LeBron. Both are celebrated by their peers, only one gets criticized my the masses. What you call seeking credit, I see as bringing attention to causes he values.

I don't know the details of that story but people in comment section keep mentioning it. All right, if they think it's necessary. However, after watching this video, I think that even if that did happen, could he have redeemed himself for previous crimes by helping lots of other people? I'm not saying we should ignore it, but as I understand that was a long time ago. And I don't see anyone randomly writing about him actually doing something good. He might have done more bad things than I did, but he has definitely done more good things than I did. So, speaking for myself, I think it's fair to try and perceive Sean Penn as a person, who, unlike some movie characters, may be more complex than to defined by a couple of words.
