I still remember Conan doing the "Yay Boo" song on the Late Night show like fifteen years ago, he used to sing it pretty much every time someone in the audience booed. I was sixteen years old or something, I thought it was the funniest thing ever. I also had the impression he made the song up, this is the first time I'm hearing the original version.
@EmpyreanLightASMR

Same!! I posted elsewhere, but I remember him singing it. I didn't watch Conan in the 90s (I did see him on TV in 93/94 but was at a friends house and not paying attention). I just binge watch late night clips on youtube every so often and now that I"m catching up on TeamCoco's clips, and with the writer's strike, I'll probably finally be binging on more late night clips soon. But that's where I saw him singing Yay Boo haha

The samba vibes of that particular Pippi Långstrump is due to the arrangements of composer and all-around musical genius Georg Riedel. While jazz pianist and composer Jan Johansson wrote the song (and passed away suddenly soon after), Riedel took over as the sole musical interpreter and composer for Astrid Lindgren's future endeavours.

in the song by The Prodigy, The phrase "Smack my bitch up" translates to: "Request another to inject you with Heroin or get you high. The phrase does not mean to hit your girlfriend, nor does it advocate violence toward women as it literally implies. 'Smack my Bitch Up' was actually about injecting drugs - as in: your arm is your 'bitch', and 'smack' is slang for heroin. No idea if that's any better, though - but that's also the reason the messed-up protagonist in Jonas Akerlund's magnificently offensive video turns out to be a woman at the end - it's deliberately controversial, but they still wanted to be clear it wasn't misogynistic.

5:40 The extra tragedy of "Smack My Bitch Up" is that there is a really beautiful vocal piece in the middle, that is about 1:30 long, sung by Shahin Badar. It's is really kind of out of step with the rest of song, but they also interlace her vocals into parts of the rest of the song. Her vocal is by far my favorite part. The rest of the song is okay. Except for the title line, which was always kind of cringey and now comes off a lot worse. There are other Prodigy songs I like better. Even on that album.

Someone should intercut that song with "I get knocked down" and just put it on a loop

So we had a similar song to Conan’s in the 90s that was sung to the tune of glory glory hallelujah “Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school” and it ends with meeting a teacher “by the door with a loaded .44 now my teacher don’t teach no more”

So Conan creates a song for Dudez-a-Plenti(not Baby I wish) and in the song there is a line that reads "I say YAY not BOO" . His subconsious must have put that lyric in there because of that old song. 🤣🤣

A weird song i remember as a kid was the Shaving Cream song; "Shaving cream, See what I mean. Shave every day, and you'll always be clean...." It went on after that for about 5 minutes. I still think of it when I'm shaving 🧔➡️👶
