Some positives about the Arrow Child's Play boxset is it's the cheapest option to pick up all the sequels on 4K. The Scream Factory releases are £30 each to import while the Arrow set is £99 altogether. And the Arrow set has the unrated cut of Seed on 4K, Scream Factory only includes the unrated cut on 1080p, and some archive stuff for Bride that wasnt on the Scream Factory release neither. Just import the Scream Factory 4K of 1, get the Arrow set for the sequels, and you're golden.

I pre ordered the Chronicles set the day it became available. It already dipped to 59.99 since then so I’m locked into that price (assuming it doesn’t drop further). $90 is a bit steep but seems a fair deal at 60. I haven’t seen either in decades, but I recall Barbarian being a slow moving epic while Destroyer leaned more into campy territory. Looking forward to revisiting both!

I know I'm missing out, Marc. I felt pretty dumb when these were announced and all I could remember was liking Destroyer. Is it worth a $50 blind buy? I would have gone in if it was an original art 4K Steel ...

@@4K_Kings 100% worth it. If you like sword and sorcery stuff it's a no brainier but even if that's not your jam any fan of Arnold movies needs this in their life. The film holds nothing back. I always liked Conan but I must say it's aged like a fine wine and I like it more every time I watch it. Can't wait to see this 4k. I'm personally getting both in the individual original art releases.

I’m so torn on that Child’s Play set. I can get it (the yellow version) over here for £80 and that’s a good deal for 6 movies on 4k, when I already have the original as a 4k US import. Horrific art though. Maybe it will get discounted further if it doesn’t sell… Just put in an order for Warriors, Barbarella and the Conan set. That clip of Andy from Child’s Play saying “woooow” never fails to get a laugh. Thanks guys!

Dude your thinking about pick-up Conan The Barbarian?? WTF man day one pick-up trust me I think you're gonna like it. Best sword and sorcerer movie of all time, a long with maybe the best movie score of all time. I'd jump on it quick.

Totally agree! I have the score on vinyl, it is my favorite score (along with Lord of the Rings). This is head and shoulders better than any other sword & sorcery movie. I don’t honk the extensive special features make it worth the extra cost. Buying both Conan movies is a good deal I think.

Don't understand why the original couldn't be in 4K. Licensing issue - perhaps but Carrie is being released in 4K by arrow and that is an MGM/USA release same as the original Child's Play. So it doesn't make sense.

That scene at the end of Conan the Destroyer when if I recall they were trying to sacrifice the princess, when that statue of Dagoth came to life I was legit scared as a kid, but looking at it now its hilariously bad practical effects.

Conan the Barbarian was a better story, movie (made by the great John Milius) and one of the best soundtracks of all time by Basil Poledouris. Destroyer was just a cheesy sequel with another great (almost the same) soundtrack. If you were to blind buy, wait for the cheaper version without all the stuff.

I know dude. I'm a disgrace. I will say, in the 3 years we've had this channel I have righted many wrongs in my movie watcing history. I guess I don't get bonus points for seeing Destroyer, but I would really like to see Barbarian and I have a feeling I'll probably blind buy Carrie.

Conan The Barbarian was a fantastic experience at the cinema while Destroyer was a great disappointment. Not as big a disappointment as Godfather 3 but it sucked huge calhouns.

@4K_Kings I can't answer that question for anyone. My tastes are my own plus I have an attachment to that film. You can pre order Conan the Barbarian for less. Its 42 at places like orbitdvd for example. I'm sure amazon price will drop to 39 or something at some point.
