Agreed. I don't know why exactly so many still cling to the idea that TV is the ultimate media destination, but it probably has to do with the fact that it's been an institution so monumental that the vast majority of the public practically shaped their lives around it for 60+ years. I imagine that once our two oldest generations are gone, the shift to this kind of thing will be complete and TV, at least the way we know it now, will be a niche thing. Kinda like what happened to newspapers.

I feel the exact opposite, I understand his overly "verbose" and "ostentatious" manner of speaking, look many of us are college educated and taken honor level English it's not that difficult. He just irritates me how pretentious he is, he just tries SOOOO hard to force as many words and unnecessary metaphors, but I take it more as insecurity, he so badly needs to showcase like "look at me, I can name drop all these things!" Pfft.. look, I listen to a lot of seminars and podcasts of intelligent people like Hichens, Jordan Peterson, Sam Harris, etc. who are all scholars, but they dont feel like they're just creating some vocab soup to showcase their vocab the way Brand does.

Conan is the best interviewer out there. Punching in comic observations while allowing Russell to speak effusively. Conan is still doing the best job out there. Other talk show hosts, seem self-involve and self-congratulatory. He is on top of his game with the podcast, show and at home series.

Boondock a lot of it is bc his enemies are constantly putting out there that his entire act is fake and that he is the poster child for warped self indulgent narcissistic actor/Hollywood personality that cares about no one but himself and is completely different in real life from how he portrays himself to the public. They never actually name him but the way they describe him it leaves little doubt they’re saying it’s Russell Brand.

@@adityapandey7798 I think what you're referring to is the spinning wheel. The Jenny is a multi-spindle, multi-spool spinning frame. The origin of the spinning wheel is contested but the best evidence available is that it was invented in Iraq. The British exploited and enslaved many nationalities, that much is true.

I am finding I really prefer zoom interviews over the traditional talk show format. I doubt that I would like it as well, however, if it were interrupted by all the traditional flotsam enmeshed in the traditional format. Of course, that method requires a lot of advertising sponsorship in order to pay for air time. I know I prefer to pay the streaming services which give me an option to watch sans ads. Great interview, Conan. Love Russell Brand! and your good-hearted, but at times seriously philosophical, repartee. His Luminary podcast is great.

end of 2020 and I'm back here watching this interview. I miss the 'at home' vibe of early 2020 tv, and I think I will miss it forever. Because of talk show hosts having to be less polished due to lack of equipment I found myself seeking them out as opposed to just stumbling upon them I found it much more wholesome and honest. rip
