Oh, Stephen King would not be what he is today without his wife Tabitha, absolutely NOT. She is that man's rock and saviour. And it's usually how it is with these iconic figures. Niels Bohr, the Danish Physicist, he couldn't even tie his own shoelaces. His wife had to do that. Nevertheless, Bohr, was part of the Trinity Project and author of the Copenhagen Interpretation on Quantum Mechanics. So, there you have it...

Truly the scariest thing he's said. But if they're old enough to know his work then they should come to grips with reality. It's crazy how gullible kids are, maybe it's just because the ones they trust the most lie and they don't want to ruin the magic.
@alohipahoa-guzman4109
@alohipahoa-guzman4109 4 жыл бұрын
@@illestvillain1971 the magic that kids feel when they hear Santa has given them presents isn't just something the kids feel. It's an experience for the parents too ya know. It's a great feeling seeing tour childs face light up when they see the presents they got. I would also probably argue that most parents would agree that they get just as much joy out of it, if not more, just seeing their child believe in something magical like that. And besides, they're kids. Of course they're going to be naive, but you shouldn't shame them for that. Just let them be children while it lasts because when it's gone you regret it.

@@alohipahoa-guzman4109 Ok. That's a little sad: "the only way kids can have an iota of joy is if you lie to them". I think it develops a good bond with your parents if they are the vendor of your happiness. Telling them a ridiculous lie is going overboard, and won't help with trust. Plus imo it stunts development. Kids are growing up way too slowly of late; it can't help tremendously that we baby them incessantly.

I don't know where you read it was one of the 'highest-grossing movies at the time'. It received "mixed reviews" was only "a modest success" financially, at least that's what the wiki says on it. It grossed $21.2 million at the box office, a contemporary release (also 1983) was Star Wars: VI - ROTJ, which grossed $252,583,617, over 10 times that of Cujo's measly return. 15 years later, Titanic grossed $2.202 billion, 100 times more. However, I will say it's interesting that talented people, off their minds on a plethora of strong substances, can create breathtaking masterpieces. Jimmy Page being one that springs to mind.

💕 Love Conan for saying Santa Claus might be real at 1:19 while King says he isn't at 1:13. A grown man saying that shows he still has love and innocence in his heart.

Conan, Letterman, The Tonight Show, they ALL have live audiences. If you mean the laughter itself sounds odd, that's probably the mixing, because I do believe it's usually mixed to keep the audience levels a bit higher than natural, for effect. But yeah, it's still a real audience.

I THINK WHAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE IS THAT Stephen King is a writer and Conan was also a writer (for TV). So two people who have the same ability of creativity, also masters of their craft, trying to have a conversation. That is what makes this so interesting.

I, like many, have read nearly everything King has written. I really have loved/enjoyed most of them. However, the ONLY book he has written that actually gave me nightmares was the book titled “Salems Lot”🧛🏼‍♂️. I remember that I re-read the book years later to test if it would have the same affect on me. Sadly, it DID 😳😮!! I am an avid reader and always have been. That is the one and only book that I’ve read that actually scared me enough to move into my subconscious and affect me negatively. I’m not even THAT scared of vampires in particular ... it’s just the way he wrote the story was SO horrifying in parts 💀

Looking at the date, I actually saw him (together with another one of my favorite authors, Michael Chabon) at that New Yorker Festival appearance. I asked if he'd ever thought of doing any comics, and he said "no," but the first Dark Tower comic was announced RIGHT after that. Was he lying, did he forget, or was he under some NDA at the time?

They started in 2005, but you could already buy consumer HD camcorders in 2005. Some much older programs can also be shown in HD or 4k, as they were shot on film. A relatively recent example(1990+) is Seinfeld which was shot on 35mm.

@@DoubleMonoLR Oh I know, HD cameras existed in 1991. However this seems very early for a switchover on a show like Late Night.
