I disagree with how to set up checking. Typically i remove the upper from the lower, and bcg. Then i feed the alignment rod through the bore and thru the already attached can. Then i second guess what im looking at for alignment, or get mad i have to redo my muzzle device attachment, or i say close enough and send it. Lol
