Gas port size in each barrel is different, causing over gas or under gas. bullet weights/loads, any weight added in front of the receiver changes the inertia/kinetic energy of a semi auto.A lot of variables to consider this is why a lot of custom company's have adjustable gas blocks after all these years. but you have shown the basics to get most in the right direction.

@PalmettoStateArmoryVideos5 ай бұрын
Your buffer weight isn't so much an upgrade as much as it is tuning. If you're running a 16" 5.56, the standard buffer weight should work properly if you're using standard 5.56 ammo without a suppressor. If you're running subs with a suppressor, you may need to adjust your buffer weight. There's no hard and fast rules, just what works best for your build.

What I just gathered... If im shooting subs, I should be getting a lighter weight buffer not heavier.
@PalmettoStateArmoryVideos5 ай бұрын
Shooting suppressed (with standard ammo) typically INCREASES the back pressure, meaning there's more gas entering the gas tube to cycle the AR. If you're running a 16" with a suppressor and standard super sonic ammo, it's common to INCREASE the buffer weight to counteract the increased pressure.
@tallspy71505 ай бұрын
@@PalmettoStateArmoryVideos correct. But does that mean that I should be lowering the weight with low pressure subsonic ammunition?
@P0rtScann3r5 ай бұрын
Yes, subsonic ammo has less pressure and needs a lighter buffer weight to cycle. Keep this in mind for cycling pressure when considering buffer weights: Super Sonic>Subsonic Suppressed>Unsuppressed Shorter gas tubes>Longer gas tubes
@P0rtScann3r5 ай бұрын
Keep in mind there are many ways to balance/tune a system. If you plan to switch between suppressed and unsuppressed and/or between subsonic and super sonic frequently, you may be better off with an adjustable gas block like a superlative arms or a riflespeed than constantly switching buffers. If you are just switching between suppressed and unsuppressed, and you have a flow thru our low back pressure design, you may not need to change anything on your gun to tune it.
@P0rtScann3r5 ай бұрын
Also, for a better shooting experience, get a Tubbs flat wire spring, Geissele braided spring, or a JP Enterprise silent capture system.

@PalmettoStateArmoryVideos5 ай бұрын
The H3 should do the trick.
@geodkyt5 ай бұрын
If you're blowing primers out on the regular, you have a problem that isn't related to your buffer setup - the max pressure in the case (what causes primers to back out or blow out) is long before the bullet ever passes the gas system. Try different manufacturers or lots of ammo, because that's a sign of either excessively hot ammo, or primers that are too loose in the primer pocket (either primers slightly undersized, pockets slightly oversize, or primers not seated correctly).
