Nice video, what fluid do you use in your parts washer. I get my new big red machine this week and I like the idea of the parts washer to sterilize and clean the blades. Thank you for your time.

Whats the ultimate way to sharpen? could you use watercooled diamond wheels? or how about a milling machine?

Your awesome, I like your video. I didn't realize how much went into sharping blades. I have been pondering the idea to set up shop in my garage to do such a thing. I went online to find someone such as yourself to get a better grasp of what is all involved. Thanks for posting. I have a few questions. That red tool you were using that attaches to the blade does set the angle as well?

No , and that why you shouldn't use a magnet

I noticed that you do not take the blade completely across the wheel. In my experience, if you do not use the entire wheel, you end up wearing it unevenly, creating blades with the wrong shape to them, regardless of pattern. I hope this helps, I hope you didn't need it as you seem to have a pretty good eye for detail.

My father, who was also a barber, would just use the slate sidewalk outside his NYC barber shop to sharpen his clipper blades. I use a two sided stone and it works fine and is a lot easier than all this.

Stones are flat the blades are Hollow Ground so u need to go through all this ( but thanks for the info )
@freekwuhnsee14438 жыл бұрын
Sharpening a true hollow ground blade with a sharpening stone will produce a more durable flat grind at the edge. A sharpening stone removes metal very slowly so you won't wear away the blade prematurely past the indentations.
