Hi Nick, I want to as ask, can aluminium wheel sharpen all types of clipper blade ? I sharpened some blade and they appeared correctly . Out of that Someone also brought his clippers to sharpen 4 him, this time I did but the blades couldn't cut hairs and the client was annoyed. That is why I'm asking you this question. Thank you dear.
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 Жыл бұрын
Clipper blades vary and different mediums are used depending on the situation. There are too many variables to consider when determining why a blade won't cut. However, the wheel itself isn't as important as the expertise and experience of the sharpener.

when using that platter ginder how do you compensate for the different abrasion rate→the outer edge of the wheel cuts faster/more than the center of the wheel does. You can get a flat surface but the thickness of the blade will vary slightly from edge to edge. How does that affect the tension between the cutting edges?

Our plates do not create a flat profile but rather a specific shape. The tension is consistent across the blade.

@cloudsdiamondsharpening397310 ай бұрын

Where do u apply pressure on the blade while u hold it togl get that circle or ball shaped pattern? Is it the same for the t liner blade? And what speed do u use and does the speed make a big difference ?
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 Жыл бұрын
All blades are different and there's a variety of approaches to take depending on the blade. Speed varies as well.
@wildlifeent415 Жыл бұрын
So what do you do for clipper blades and t liners?
@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 Жыл бұрын
@@wildlifeent415 every blade is different. You have detachable blades, trimming blades, adjustable blades etc. There are a lot of factors involved such as the shape that's already on the blade before sharpening, size of blade, wear and tear, etc. The shape that the wheel can produce is consistent on every blade, but the speed that's used, diamond vs oxide, pressure points on blade when sharpening, etc. all factor in to the process.
@KitMunki11 ай бұрын
This still would provide an uneven curvature to the knife blade. Surely you need consistent curvature?

Why wont some sharpeners sharpen ceramic blades? Are they fragile and snap in half?
@cloudsdiamondsharpening39737 ай бұрын
Sharpening ceramic requires different equipment than what's needed for sharpening steel. Not so much the machines themselves but the medium that is used. There aren't as many ceramic blades on the market as steel so sometimes it's not cost effective to buy the proper equipment for a blade you see every now and then. We see a lot of them because we advertise the ability to sharpen them properly, but they're not as common as steel blades for the average sharpener.

Thanks for the video. About how many times can a andis t trimmer blade be sharpened before it has to be replaced?
@cloudsdiamondsharpening39732 жыл бұрын
It will vary. Taking care of the blades (cleaning, oiling, storage, etc.) usually will be the biggest factor in determining how long the blade will last. When sharpening a well cared for blade, minimal metal is removed. If a blade is continuously used with issues, not only will it affect the blades life, but also the clippers.

Diamond provides a smoother finish. My wheel is designed to cut a shape into the blade that promotes longevity. However, user maintenance and using the tools properly have a lot to do with how long an edge lasts. I sharpen new blades as an additional quality control step due to experience with new blades not lasting long or not cutting at all. Hello. It's a sharpening wheel. But it's only in my family. And I am not ready to distribute but the next best thing is probably the Nebraska clipper blade sharpening machine

Our wheel isn't coated, but we redistribute the charge the same as you would using oxide. Yes, 1500.

I've been receiving a lot of blades in the past few weeks that were ruined from being sharpened on a stone/block, so I figured the video might help. Thanks for watching!

I'm kinda lost here with your video on sharpening your clippers blades because you did use the block and then the sharpening wheel
@tomtd3 жыл бұрын
The block is how not to do it as it results if a flat grind, the disc is actually a very flat cone and produces a concave. When he does the rub test it produced a curved shadow of high spots on the end which is what the blades required to be offering the best results. Nebraska blades and a Swiss company make these sharpeners but I think his is not theirs as his has diamonds as the grinding media, the others use aluminium oxide grits

Hi Nick, I have a few questions regarding the Oster Fast Feed and possibly modifying them to become cordless and wireless 1) Is it possible to modify a corded Oster fast feed clipper by changing the AC Pivot Motor to a DC Magnetic Motor (a DC Magnetic Motor from a Wahl Cordless Senior preferably) 2) Is it possible to solder in an 18650, 20700 or 21700 battery in the clipper, connected directly to the DC Magnetic Motor 3) Wireless modification, or Wireless PCB attachment and connected to the 18650, 20700 or 21700 battery. 4) essentially modify and create a personal wireless Oster Fast Feed clipper Note: I believe this has been achieved however I was wondering how tough of a job it would possibly be? And what it would potentially require
@cloudsdiamondsharpening39734 жыл бұрын
No you will need a pcb to convert to ac to DC to be able to use a battery

you never let the cam focus on the blade long enough so we could see what you were talking about, and the way you explained it I would have to have experience sharpening blades already. Was the intent of this vid "don't even try to DIY, send them to me I'm the pro"? Do you have any vids that are about teaching diyers how to sharpening on their own?
@cloudsdiamondsharpening39733 ай бұрын
@@popparock6506 the video shows the difference between a professionally sharpened clipper blade vs a blade that's sharpened flat. This video was made specifically do to the increasing volume of blades our business was receiving at the time that had been sharpened flat and couldn't be restored. Sharpening clipper blades properly requires the right machinery and a lot of practice and experience to perfect. You could definitely diy it, but to do it properly and achieve longevity on the edge produced, you would need a stack of cash and plenty of free hours to practice/train yourself.

You have taught me something! That I need to send my blades to you! Thanks for the video Nick. (my cheap clippers are probably not worth sharping...LOL)

68.5 blades per day assuming you took no days off is a lot. 😯
@cloudsdiamondsharpening39734 жыл бұрын
I can do 25 blades an hour. How did you come up with your number? So if I only work 3 hours a day that would be 75 a day and I work 8 hours a day
