The biggest selling points in China are the price and screen. It is significantly cheaper than the Vivo x100 pro, OPPO find find x8 pro and Xiaomi 15 pro for example. It is basically better than the Vivo x200 pro and Vivo x200 pro apart from cameras (better screen, motor, faster wired and wireless charging than the x200 pro). However the cameras are better on the Vivo x200pro and the Oppo Find x8 pro. For the price in China it's probably got the best overall combination of specs of any phone of the newly launched flagships
@ch33zpuffАй бұрын
Thanks for the review. In a Chinese video on this phone, they mentioned that the 50 cm min focus distance of the telephoto lens was due to its design that allowed for a thinner camera bump at the expense of the focus distance. Overall, I agree that the camera upgrade is pretty minimal this gen, but I mainly use the telephoto for distant objects so the focus distance probably wouldn't bother me that much. I think one aspect of the phone that you glossed over is the performance of the 8 Elite which will make a big impact for those that game on their phone due to the 30-40% increase in CPU/GPU performance and better effeciency compared to 8 Gen 3.
@ConceptcreatorАй бұрын
Honestly for most people you will never notice that difference, that is why I feel like it isn't a big selling point. For the camera, yeah I have heard the same, but I don't get why they would use that as trade off to completely disallow some compositions

The only downside of OnePlus phones has been the long history of Wi-Fi driver issues, which seems to be more a challenge of lasting development support for their phone software updates post-launch. A big contributing factor is dependence on native drivers in Andriod vs an ability to create custom drivers similar to LG, Samsung, and several others are able to do. This means native radio driver challenges tend to linger for years on OnePlus devices. So, you get flagship hardware with little backend development support for continuous improvement when Andriod native issues surface. Motorola has a history of the same driver challenges. These challenges are missed on many reviews but are heavily discussed of Wi-Fi Engineering forums.

Interestingly enough, the reason I picked up the OnePlus 12 in Black was because I hated the kitchen tile green option. I never liked it and it utterly repulsed me. Although, I'm forced to agree with you about the blue 13 but, that has less to do with the silver camera ring and more to do with the fake leather back. I plan on picking up the 13 but, I'm thinking about the white option. Allegedly, that option will be available in the North American models this time.

It feels like you really hate the 13 because of some choices they made. I can't understand that. I had the 12, which sadly broke because of my fault and went now with the 13. Of course you don't need to upgrade from the 12 but there some major improvements. The processor is way better. Up to 30-40%. I don't need it but it's nice to have in the future. The battery life is about 30% better compared to the already awesome battery life of the 12. The IP rating is a nice upgrade. The cameras are better. They now have 1 year of experience with the LYT 808 and the wide angle and telephoto are also a step up from last year, especially the wide angle I can really see a difference. For photos it's way closer to the quality of the main camera. Design is a point. I think all the other brands are more premium. OnePlus 13 itself very poor signal reception 😢 What about your 13 ???

I did not have that issue, could it be your provider doesn't fully supports the bands you have on your phone?

The screen looks curved
@pijuscreativo17 күн бұрын
Because it has microcurves. It's not a 100% flat panel. Anyways I don't see a problem with that

Hmm, that's quite a chunk of money for something that doesn't really quite cut it. I'm with you on the distance for close ups. Why oh why do manufacturers make these bizarre decisions on annual upgrades? I guess they feel they're being left behind the competition if there's no no model each year. Your right. It's not worth it, stepping up from last year's model. After all we put so much emphasis on how many years of software upgrade is thrown in, why would we then expect to change phones every year.

yeah fulllllyyyy get that, if you have a older like the 10 Pro yeah sure upgrade, but from the 12 to the 13 for instance doesn't make sense to me.

I think One Plus images look over exposed, too saturated and too processed

blue and silver combine perfectly. look at expensive watches, many have designs in blue and silver. 1 + 13 in blue is nice and expensive looking and black looks very cheap and it is very slippery

It really doesn't look like an expensive watch to me...

You don't need anyone's approval, if you like the blue version then go for it.

I never liked the camera ever since they went to that round thing. It's a very ugly phone. The last oneplus I had was the 7 with the popup camera, that was my favorite phone till this day. I don't like any of the phones coming out this year. If the oneplus comes out with 24 gigs of ram I might go with that.

Camera still has low quality on apps like Snapchat and Instagram. iPhone and Galaxy way better. The camera design needs an update. Android emojis 🤢
