I had a G3 (several before the screens went dead haha), G6, G8, V60, and Velvet. Miss those things, especially the weather animations on the lock screen, knock code, separate alarm volumes, and extremely useful action widgets that are lacking on new Android devices. Just upgraded to the 13 from my 12R and it's been great so far though!

Buying mine tomorrow trading in my op 12 for it. loving that new battery tech vs that standard ion battery with that shatter sheild, ultra sonic fingerprint sensor, improved aqua touch and water resistence ,action shot mode, with 4k 60 on the front camera. new tech for the tele lens and more processing power for zoom shooting. Adapting magnetic charging in a more compatable fashion.

For the quick launch option, you don't have to met your finger on the sensor. Once your phone unlocked, you can directly move your finger and all the icones will appear. If you remember where you put your shortcuts, it is blaaaaazing fast. I was already using that option on my OP 7 pro and could not have a phone without that anymore. Way too convenient once you got used to.

I can't turn on Do Not Disturb for set periods, I can't disable Google Discovery, and I can't use a custom launcher without a delay when I swipe up from the bottom. It's a shame, as the hardware is fantastic, but I may have to return it out of sheer irritation.

@ TBH I'm on the verge of sending it back! The hardware is brilliant - battery superb, fast charging great, and screen is sublime. The camera is fine for me, but I'm a photographer so a phone camera has always been secondary to my professional rig. But - the Oxygen OS software is driving me crazy. If you use a custom launcher with swipe gestures, you get a slight lag before you see the homepage icons - but if you use a stock launcher you cannot get rid of Google Discover. There are a few other annoyances too - like with Samsung you can 'set Do Not Disturb for xx hours', but with this you can only do it with schedules. Also, no Dolby Atmos, and with my Sony headphones it just does not sound as loud as I'd like it to sound - no annoying volume limit popup though!

@@hollisontherock I went from S24U to this phone and absolutely love it! Cameras are great. I think it's every bit as good as the S24U in most situations. Feels like a nice upgrade to be. Had 5 hours of screen on time yesterday and went to bed with 51% battery left!

My One Plus 8 has lasted me 5 years so I would say yes, but you will be going that last 1-2 years without major OS updates. For example my phone is still secure but I don't have any of the features in this video, and haven't gotten new first party features in over a year.

sorry to say this oneplus fanboy..is not buying another oneplus...had the one plus 1/4/6/8/10/12 ...ten was bad not a top phone but ended up a mid range one...but the 8 and 12 both has screen burn in..when on white screen you can see the front screen tiles...never use phones to their max casual user..and screen not full brightness and screen turn off after 2 minutes..so not my fault it burns in...but never again will i buy one from them apart from that they are good phones

You missed the most useful tip. There is a way to reclaim the full screen real estate on OnePlus and Samsung phones. I mean the 5 mm at the bottom of the screen which are already taken by the gesture pill. It's hideous, it gets in the way and takes space off your screen

Nobody is talking about this, but the Oneplus 13 is not listed as compatible with Verizon and may not be compatible with TMobile. Some say it works, but not on 5G. Others say there is an RTT issue. The phone may be great, but it doesn't really matter if it's not compatible with US carriers.
