Being of age and how to manage the sequence of returns in those early periods is what seems quite scary in the current market. The market is never a loser in a twenty year cycle, but the 2000s decade scenario scares me and could really disrupt my retirement. When you are no longer accumulating but withdrawing its hard to be anything but cautious.

Productivity tips Rajan Singhji, thank you for the video on getting into the flow state to increase productivity. You mentioned that there are 8 conditions, but presented only 4. Can you please present the remaining four? Thanks! Here is my summary of this video, on how the flow state can be created even in our daily life. Deep absorption. First condition for Flow: Have a short term goal. For this, keep strong narrow focus towards an immediate clear goal (on the task at hand). Do not think of anything else. Eg. rock climbing, playing a video game, working on deadlines, exams. You could create an (artificial) deadline for yourself even by committing to a close friend. Second condition for Flow: The task should not be too easy or too difficult, (or I would add unimportant), otherwise you could lose interest in it. In other words, the challenge and ability should be equal. Third condition for Flow: Get feedback on how you could improve. (I would add feedback could come from sources such as an external observer, or testing your learning). Fourth condition for Flow: Remove possible distractions. Example cell phone, etc.

As always, spot on and thank you 🙏🏻. We can mention one more thing in point 1 that’s if you are doing a task that truly interests you ( you mentioned care for), flow state is easily achieved. For eg I can’t achieve flow state while playing video games but when i am dancing.

I experienced this flow state in class 9th final term History exam in 2013! Read 12-13 chapters twice in about 36 hours, and then scored 74/80 in the exam. But, I've tried doing it again, but in vain. It doesn't pull of. I guess, discipline is more important and rewarding than the flow state.

Well, Pomodoro is a technique where you do 25 minutes of continuous work and then take next 5 minutes as relaxation period to regain concentration. But once you are in the flow state you won't be needing to take breaks inbetween as you will be immersed deeply in the work. Thank you

Hello Sir, Great concept and explain in a crystal clear fashion. I have experienced such flow state, it was a normal day at office, i started my day at around 9 Am. Was working till 4.30, planned to check with the team how are things, found 1 guy bit tensed and got to know he is sinking terribly and my instinct said i should help him. It was project go-live but missed lots of documentations and signoffs. we started together and works the whole night, extended till the next morning at 11:30, not even a single min of sleep, of course, made the entire US team stay for us to provide sign-off. we successfully finished it and it gave a great sense of accomplishment. But my question to you is, in fact next day, i felt extremely exhaustive and infact while driving back home at around 12 PM next day, i pulled over at the side and slept on the steering wheel for 15 to 20 mins or so. why do we feel soo tired, will the flow state, consume more energy than usual or is it state of mind that am tired and I was getting sleep signals.
@akshattewari

Of course, it consumes more energy, but also gives better results...

Thank you Sir for this amazing video. I'm practicing touch typing for few days and being a serious procrastinator, I was pretty sure that I'll quit it after a week or so. But surprisingly it's been a month now and I've achieved speed of almost 50 wpm. This small achievement means a lot to me, and now I got the reason behind it. It is nothing but the state of flow. The site I'm practicing on sets small goals and compares and tracks one's progress. That was the main reason behind the consistency. Now I know what works for me, thank you once again sir!

@@deepamishra1814 Hey Deepa! Touch typing is nothing but being able to type with a good speed without looking at the keyboard. Basically you use your muscle memory to remember which key is located where. Your fingers automatically start moving in the required directions once you practised enough. It is easy and anyone can do it too. Also an important skill to survive in today's desk jobs culture. Hope this helps 😄

Excellent and thought-provoking presentation, as always by HabitStrong... It appears that a prerequisite to achieve the flow state is intrinsic motivation... My question: Is there some way to facilitate the creation of a flow state in another person why is not motivated, say a boss in an employee who has an apathetic attitude towards work, or a teacher in a student who doesn't care a damn !!... Please share some thoughts, either here or ideally in another video about motivating others.

When someone is working under a deadline, even if the work itself is not that interesting you can get into that level of concentration which is required for Flow. Or if they are writing an exam.
