أحسن الله إليكم Hatib’s action was not disbelief رضي الله عنه and therefore assisting the disbelievers against the Muslims is not always disbelief, it depends on the intention. The scholars such as Fawzan and Saalih aala Shaykh حفظهما الله have explained this. وفق الله الجميع
