This game provided a lot of wonderful memories. It became a comfort game and overall just something fun to play to pass some time. Been playing since 2019 and never really had any complaints, just easy fun.

I'm not surprised but I am also honestly devastated, I've been playing for so long. It it was a comfort game for me then, it is still a comfort game for me now. I've had limited interactions with the devs before through closed testing, all the ones I have met have been super passionate about the game and have been nothing but kind to me and the players I've seen them interact with. They did not deserve this. Forte labs are 100% to blame.

I would for sure keep playing without any new updates. I know I'm in the minority, but I played games before updates were even possible, and got a lot of enjoyment out of my cartridge games. Dauntless to me is like playing any other sport; a way to share a common interest with others and enjoy the relaxation of doing something repetitive. I've posted this in many comment sections, so here's one more time: playing catch, kicking a ball back and forth, playing Frisbee, etc. are all fun pastimes that never update. If this truly is the end (which it appears to me), I will GREATLY miss our global community and the chance to interact with them playing a fun game.

Pretty sad but it was inevitable this would happen the second Forte Labs entered the picture. Awakening was the final nail in the coffin. I have a lot of fond memories playing in 2019 so I’m really upset to see it go

I hope that when dauntless is shut down Fans will host their own servers that roll back the negative changes If monster hunter frontier can be brought back then so can dauntless

Damn thats omega sad, I have like 700 hours on that game and it was really fun to play it. I do hope the server stays online for now. But yeh i guess updates will now be something of the past. Poor developers and artists that got layed off.

Thank You for information! I know that, for example, in Playstation there have been games, were game servers have been down some time and then fans of the game have revived them. If I remember correctly, Starhawk, is one of those examples. I like very much about Mobius Final Fantasy, which was kind of odd mix of cards, Final Fantasy characters and plots from various Final Fantasies and then there was nice irritating winged girl called Echo. I still have some of those Mobius Fantasy videos on my channel. Mobius Final Fantasy game servers were shut down in 2020.

You know what? It's fine, it'd be weirder if it didn't die out, not that it is dead yet, but with how this thing got passed around like a you know what at a you know where from company to company, I'm happy it's dying. Maybe the original devs can band back together and try again somewhere else down the line. It's important for those nerds to remember that failures are to be taken in stride, as they lead to eventual success.

Thanks for the information. I am very sad if it is true. I am rather confused. If it really is over, I am so shocked that I won't even need an Epic account. Was the current confusing specs and billing system a last minute choice to not adopt blockchain?

I've played many hundreds, probably close to a thousand hours of Dauntless. They should have just added new weapons, pets, sky fishing, maybe a guild hall in the form of an airship and or many other things the community has been basically begging for over the years. Instead they put all this effort into somewhat complex and somewhat broken systems that make players grind for minimal progression, as well as nerfing some of the things that made the game fun. It slowly became less and less fun to play Dauntless over the years. At this point, all the "fun" things that could have been done with this game seem to be for sure never going to happen, and the game will sadly, eventually shut down for good. Its been a fun ride tho if this is it, at least the first few years, RIP.

That’s not going to work Forte labs themselves are a cryptocurrency scam company and I don’t think begging for another crypto bro to buy this game would be any good. Besides he probably won’t care about this game no matter how much you cry to him about it anyways unfortunately.

I have quit dauntless because it took almost all my inventory worth of 3 years of playing and I have not seen reason to still play

Honestly the most predictable shut down I've ever seen. I'm extremely glad this update deleted this game. Because now other developers have something new to look at and fear when thinking about making brain dead decisions.
